더 렉스, 체르마트(The Rex)

I love the philosophy of this hotel, sustainable development and zen! The staff is very friendly and give me good suggestions all the time! The sourdough from the bakery is extremely nice. I love their pizza, cinnamon rolls and cookie! The grill room provide delicious meat and wine! The breakfast is super yummy! The room is very cozy and warm! I love the rainforest shower, the furniture and the books! The spa centre and the garden make me relax! I will come back and recommend to everyone!

Loved our stay at The Rex. The hotel was fab, the staff so friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent! The hotel was in a good location, albeit short walk to the lifts/train but also very close to the stop for the free bus that takes you to the lifts. Stayed in the two bedroom apartment in the hotel which worked very well with small kitchen and good size living area and bedrooms. Bathrooms (shower only) were very clean and modern - only minor quibble was that the apartment was quite plainly decorated. The pool and spa area was great for all the family (up to 7pm) and we used it every day. All in all though def recommend.

From the moment we arrived at the Rex, we were treated to a level of hospitality that was truly heartwarming. The receptionist directly greeted us at the door with a big smile and we felt home instantly. The welcome cookies were a delightful touch in the room, and the whole teams recommendations around skiing and restaurants were spot on. We booked the Matterhorn View Suite, which was a perfect blend of traditional but not too old feeling interiors with great views exactly how we like it. The views of the Matterhorn from our private balcony making us every morning excited to head out. The highlight for us was the breakfast. A perfect combination for a mountain hotel: fresh, homemade and with their own bread! The 2 pools and wellness facilities were also great after a day skiing. Our stay at the Rex was the highlight of our European tour so far, and we can't wait to return to stay a even longer! Thanks to all the lovely staff providing us with such a great experience in Zermatt.

What a find! We had a remarkable week at the Rex and throughly relished the fabulous and spacious spa with multiple saunas and a large hot tub and pool. We stayed in a junior suite, which worked well for our family of three. The hotel is conveniently located just off the main street of the town and close to the ski lifts. Breakfast was delicious with bread fresh from the bakery, local jams and cheeses as well as pancake or egg options made to order. In the evenings, we enjoyed drinks by the fire while playing backgammon (hot chocolate with Bailey's was a favorite). I appreciated the fresh fruit available in the afternoons at the spa and the homemade cookies in our room upon arrival. The entire staff was outstanding - eager to please, well informed, and exceedingly kind. In particular, we appreciated Nellie, Alice, and Raphaela (who helped me with a somewhat complicated restaurant cancellation), as well as Veronica in the breakfast room and Melanie in the bar. The Rex made our vacation exceptional. Thank you!

My recent stay at Hotel Rex in Zermatt was incredible!! From the charming ambiance to the impeccable cleanliness, every detail was just perfect. Their self-made kombucha, the biodynamic wine, the nice spa to the heavenly bakery treats left me speechless - best bakery in town! 🤤 Super friendly stuff :) Hotel Rex truly exceeded my expectations. Their Restaurant Stockhorn by the rex is a absolute must go! Can't wait to come back and relive this wonderful experience! ❤️

We stayed at Hotel Rex 16 years ago when we visited Zermatt during the summer. We enjoyed our stay then and decided to stay once more. The concierge(s) were extremely friendly, helpful and responsive before and during our stay. Prior to our arrival they booked our massages at a nearby spa/hotel, made dinner reservations as well as lunch reservations. Once we arrived, they assisted us with cab rides and other advice. The bartenders and wait staff at the breakfast are were lovely and the service was good. The seating area by the bar/ fireplace was a lovely place to end a long day of skiing/touring each night. The only reason we give Hotel Rex 4 and not 5 stars could just be our own biases when it comes to wine and coffee. Although tea was provided on the room ( much to my surprise, as I only drink tea), my husband longed for coffee upon waking and getting ready to go down for breakfast. As for the wine, because it is natural and does not contain sulfites, which I suppose is a good thing, it was very sour. I had the Sancerre and just could not continue drinking it, due to its flavor.

I just returned from an incredible stay at The Rex, and it was amazing. Everything from the wonderfully attentive staff, the beautiful hotel, the spa, and the best morning breakfast spread, makes this hotel absolute go to when visiting Zermatt. Highly recommended.
