Our home was once used as executive suites for a local multimillion dollar mining company. We've outfitted each large bedroom with King beds to ensure you feel like an executive during your stay. The home is unique because it's a 'modern' property in a historic town, boasting a lovely mid-century modern feel with two master bedroom on-suite bathrooms and an open concept floor plan. Our downstairs has kid space and storage for gear. HISTORY & ARCHITECTURE: The Church House is a 2-bedroom vacation rental listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Wallace, Idaho. The building was originally a tiny chapel, built around 1905 to serve the local mining population. The main room features stained glass arched windows and vaulted barrel ceiling with a living area, long dining table, open kitchen, daybed reading nook, and old-time upright piano. Gorgeous! SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Two bedrooms flank the main room. The queen bedroom features French doors to the brick patio; the king bedroom features stained glass windows. Both rooms are cozy with comfy beds. There is a twin daybed in the living room. Additionally, there is a fold-out loveseat in the entry/vestibule area and a rollaway bed that can be placed anywhere (niether is great for Grandma or Grandpa, but ok for the kiddos!).BATHROOM: One small but cute bathroom, located next to the Queen room, has a shower, no tub. Towels and toiletries provided.LOCATION: Conveniently located across from the historic library right on the edge of the business core, it's a very easy walk to all the shops, restaurants, museums, tours, and pubs. It's also right across the way from the Couer D'Alene bike trail/river, and has easy highway access for the nearby Route of the Hiawatha bike trail, Lookout Pass Ski Resort, and Silver Mountain Ski Resort. It's super easy to find when you arrive, right on the main road into town. There's tons to do in Wallace, and staying at the Church House will put you in easy proximity to all of it.AMENITIES: The full kitchen is quirky since it used to be a coffee shop, but it has all you'll need to cook a meal, including a full sized fridge and stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and coffee, pots/pans, dishes, utensils, cooking oil and some spices, etc. It does only have one very small sink currently, and no dishwasher, so you might find it more convenient to eat out with lots of great options a very short walk away. There is also a washer and dryer that guests can use, and a cabinet full of board games -- plus a nice big table to play them on. The TV is on a rolling cart and can be moved to wherever you'd like to watch TV; it has an Amazon firestick for movies, shows, and music, plus a DVD player and a collection of DVDs. NEW in 2022: added a brand new furnace with central air conditioning! NEW in 2023: a gorgeous new shower! EXTERIOR SPACES: There is no backyard but there is a nice large brick patio on the front/side, with table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee with mountain/forest views and the sound of the river (and yes, the occasional semi passing by on the highway -- unfortunately). PARKING is available on the street just steps from the door. Bikers may bring expensive bikes into the house if they'd like; there's room in the entry area to park them.SMOKING allowed outside away from all open doors and windows. Cute 'lil' house with a great view! Just 3-blocks from downtown Wallace. This newly remodeled home features 3 beds . Perfect for a small family on a ski vacation or to go to one of the many Wallace festivals. Only a ten minute drive from the Hiawatha trail, Lookout Mountain and Silver Mountain. A half mile from the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and one mile from the Pulaski Trail. We keep adding amenities. FYI there is no wifi in the house, but most businesses in town do have it.Space Description:There are two sets of stairs to get into the home,~12-steps total. There are space heaters in all the rooms, A/C in the summer. Guests say it stays cool even on the hottest days.There's a master bedroom with a queen bed and a back room the has a curtain the block most light with a bunkbed (full and twin).The kitchen has most of the basics for cooking and meal prep.Other things to note:You will be sent a 4 or 5 digit code for your front door access within a day or two of booking the house. See Messages for that code.When you check out, simply strip any used linens, wash your dishes, lock the front door and turn off any space heaters or fans.In the winter Wallace can receive a foot of snow a day. We do shovel and de-ice several times a week. You may need to shovel upon arrival if snow has accumulated from the time we left and the time you arrive. We provide a shovel and de-icer. The house is close to the road so it is only 20 ft. and a few steps.No pets, service dogs, support animals are allowed due to allergies. There are no exceptions , due to our allergies this does NOT violate any state or federal ADA laws.FYI, this home is not affiliated with any other business, outdoor facilities or festivals. The home features three bedrooms on the main level along with two baths. The kitchen is all new and nicely appointed with granite counters, hickory cabinets, new appliances, and is well stocked with everything needed, opening to the dining and living room areas. The living room has a comfy couch along with a new 65" flat-screen TV if you want to relax with a bit of Netflix after a long day of skiing at Lookout or Silver (10 miles in either direction). The dining area features a large table with a bench on one side and four chairs around the other sides. Sliding barn doors add a pop of color in three of the rooms.There is a large bonus room/loft/office upstairs with a twin daybed and a variety of fun/eclectic furnishings. There is also a full and usable basement below the main level with workout equipment and new 65" flat-screen TV to distract you while on the StairMaster as well as a small couch, bistro table, and dart board.All furnishings throughout are "new" with an eclectic farmhouse chic style -- most items are new from the factory with a number of repurposed accents from a variety of Coeur d'Alene "junk" stores spread about such as a potter's bench hutch, a custom-built standing desk using found pallets, and other knick-knacks.The master bedroom is comfy and spacious with a king-sized sleigh bed and a new 55" flat-screen TV. The second and third bedrooms are somewhat smaller but comfy with queen and double beds respectively.The internet is the "good" internet in Wallace with solid download speeds of 30 Mbps and a Wi-Fi router that reaches all corners of the home. The three new flat-screen Roku TV's are all set up with several of the popular streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Peacock) for your viewing pleasure. A new 22 KW standby generator was installed this year to keep your stay warm and pleasant should there be a power outage in town.There is parking for one car in the driveway and there is also usually room for parking two or three cars on the street (subject to the vagaries of the snow plows in the winter) . The home has an attached two-car garage but that is reserved for an owner car plus various tools and equipment. A Tesla charger is onsite in the garage with the charging cable routed to the outside of the garage for use at the driveway.It is a century old home and there are a few quirks in particular that merit a mention -- the stairways from the main level to the loft and basement are tiny and the floors in a few areas (particularly the bonus room/loft) have a bit of a slope to them.
