Welcome to our recently renovated, dog-friendly home with fantastic views of Lookout Mountain! This is our personal home which we live in during the winter and offer as a VRBO throughout the rest of the year! The house is fully stocked, decorated with love and ready to go for your stay!
Location:
~20 min from downtown Chattanooga
~10 min to St.Elmo
~8 min to Chickamauga!
We know this area / Chattanooga very well and are happy to give you recommendations for your stay!
ABOUT THE HOME:
The home went through a complete renovation including new windows, basement refinish, landscaping and a NEW 3rd bathroom with STEAM SHOWER.
We love the natural MCM look of the 1960s rancher and chose to lean into the uniqueness - by keeping the original green bathroom tiles and beadboard basement.
This home is spacious for multiple couples, children and pets.
The 2nd floor
-Includes 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. 1 bathroom is en-suite to the primary bedroom, and 1 bathroom is off of the main hallway. This floor walks out to the amazing back-deck with a view of Lookout Mountain. The back-deck faces West so guests can see the most amazing sunsets. In the morning, you can enjoy your coffee/tea listening to the birds. Deck includes two layout chairs, a 4-top metal table set with umbrella and two stackable chairs, a gas grill, chimenea, and stocked with firewood on the first floor.
The 1st floor
-Completely finished partial basement which walks-outside to the fenced back yard / dog run. This floor includes the largest 4th bedroom (this bedroom does not have a window), and an entertainment room that has 3 separate beds (futon, twin trundle) - perfect for kids or a group of friends.
-This floor includes a brand new 3rd full bathroom with walk in, steam shower

-Most rooms include a Smart TV and bathrooms include Bluetooth speakers within the ceiling fan!
-The house is on a water filtration system meaning all of the sink and shower water is completely filtered! No water bottles needed here.
-The garage is huge and includes a full laundry area with stain stick, detergent, dryer sheets - everything you may need.
-Easy check-in and check-out process with a Smart Lock.
-We have dogs and understand how hard it can be to book a VRBO that is dog friendly! The home is optimized to make it easy for those traveling with their dogs. We include 2 pet gates, eating & drinking bowls and dog friendly blankets. We charge $60 per dog. We are flexible on the amount of dogs (because we are dog lovers) please just reach out in advance. *Please note sometimes our internet can be spotty downstairs since we are up in the mountains. This beautiful, recently renovated, fairy-tale cottage is located in Chickamauga, GA, near the National Battlefield and convenient to Chattanooga, TN. Located in a charming small town, with boutique shops and several great places to eat, it is also only 12 miles (or 25 minutes) to downtown Chattanooga, where you can enjoy many family/tourist activities (including Rock City and Ruby Falls!) and FABULOUS restaurants! The cottage can sleep several, and is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The space
This is truly a storybook/fairy-tale cottage and decorated with loving attention to detail! It even has a spinning wheel!
It has a small kitchen, small dining area , 2 nice decks and a front porch, and a campfire pit . It has a bedroom downstairs with a full bed, a fold out bed in the, living room with flat screen tv w/cable, luxurious bathroom with vintage claw-foot tub and separate shower, upstairs has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a 1/2 bath across the hall from the another bedroom that has 2 full-size , built in captain beds. The stairs going upstairs are a bit steep, but good handrails and a gate (that latches) at the top.
Guest access

If the barn isn't occupied/rented, you are welcome to walk down to the renovated, event barn and visit the goats and miniature horse.
Interaction with guests
Someone from our family is always around our 40 acre farm adjacent to the cottage property. We are all very happy to have guests in the cottage - please let us know if you have any questions or if we can help you in any way!
Other things to note
The fairy tale cottage is incredibly special! We put precious items inside to share with you during your stay and ask that you are careful with all of the treasures. We do welcome well-behaved children and are so glad for them to visit this magical place, and they LOVE the cottage, but be aware there are items that are very tempting to little ones that aren’t to be played with, so you may have to move some things out of harm’s way if needed! The cottage has multiple levels and also has a fairly steep set of stairs – so is not be ideal for babies or busy toddlers: younger guests will need help and a close eye!About pets:No pets allowed.Crated pets only - allergy free zone-call for more.About checkOut:Check out before 12:00 PM.About children:Children allowed: ages 3-17.Call for kids 3-7years- fragile items/steep stairs.About customRules:Cottage is full of treasures. NOTE: The property requires stairs for access.
NOTE: Your safety matters. This property features 3 exterior security cameras: 1 at the front door facing the exterior front entry, 1 above the garage facing the driveway, and 1 facing the backyard. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras record video and sound when activated by motion.
NOTE: The wood burning stove is not available for guest use.
NOTE: Although we are pet friendly, we do not allow cats.
NOTE: Grill: Kenmore 4 burner propane grill provided on the updated patio. Tools, anti-stick and cleaning spray are provided. Please ensure safe use and turn propane tank off and once cool the grill is covered after each use. We provide and have backup propane, so please let us know if you run low or out on how to obtain the spare bottle.
NOTE: Fire pit: Please ensure you practice safety at all times and keep children at a safe distance from the fire. Only firewood is to be used. No explosives, cans, plastics, etc. S'more pokers are provided.

The Burrow is another spectacular, magical space to share with you! Hidden on our 40 acre private farm, it has lots to explore, our signature scavenger hunt, and a Muggle TV & DVD player with the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts documentaries (+100 more) are there for you!
Deer, wild turkeys, wild cranes and ducks, rabbits, etc. may be spotted from the porch of the Burrow, as well! Bring marshmallows for the fire in the outdoor cauldron!
