"We stayed at the White Hotel in Vieste from August 18th to 24th and, based on the description, were really looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, reality fell far short of the advertised standard. Even at check-in at 8 pm, the reception was very impersonal and unenthusiastic. On the evening of August 20th, the front office manager, Ms. Silvia, came out to us while we were sitting outside waiting for my cousin. She demonstratively threw a candle into a pot and began shouting at us loudly because my wife had left a negative review. She said, and I quote, "You'll see what you get for this." We found this behavior disrespectful, unprofessional, and even threatening. Instead of handling criticism professionally, we were insulted and intimidated; the evening was ruined for us. We immediately offered to leave the hotel and demanded that she settle everything and refund me for the remaining nights, which she refused to do. So, in effect, we were forced to stay. The facilities also fell short of expectations for a 4-star hotel. Our room (No. 106) was right next to the reception, and from 8:30 a.m. onwards, sleep was impossible due to loud talking and laughter. The bathroom was cramped, the shower walls were broken, and the mattresses were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The room contained only an empty refrigerator; not even water was provided. The area advertised as an "outdoor pool" turned out to be a small, dirty pool, and the loungers were torn and neglected. The spa area was also never open during our stay. Breakfast was of acceptable quality, but completely unprofessional in its organization. Although it was officially offered until noon, by 9:30 a.m. almost everything was gone, and the tables hadn't been cleared. (After my wife wrote the review, the issue was resolved.) We had to ask several times for the buffet to be refilled. One employee was very friendly and even spoke German. On our departure day, August 24th, we checked out at 5:00 AM. The night watchman was very friendly and even made us coffee. Unfortunately, he was completely untrained and didn't know how to handle the billing. I even had to help him correctly record the parking fees. This clearly demonstrates that the problem doesn't lie with the staff, but with management, who apparently prefer yelling at guests to training their personnel. On the positive side, the owner, who was friendly at reception every morning and at least said good morning, the helpful night watchman, the diligent cleaning staff, and the two nice young men in the breakfast room, one of whom even spoke very good German, were all very welcome. Overall, however, our stay was disappointing. The hotel advertises a 4-star standard, which it simply didn't meet."

Very beautiful structure with a terrace that looks directly onto Pizzomunno where you can have an aperitif or simply spend time. Very nice and clean rooms. Highly recommended structure and in an excellent location."

"We enjoyed our vacation here, nice reception and breakfast/ dinner staff, friendly pool staff, beautiful location, amongst olive and fruit trees, good parking provision, and good frequent shuttle service to the beach and town centre, especially good when very hot, as in the last July heatwave (although the shuttles get filled up quickly, they run them non stop and never leave anyone stranded). We had one dinner at the hotel, which we thought was very good, finished with a fantastic desert!"

"This hotel is rated a 4 star hotel and at best it is a 2.5 or 3 star hotel. I decided to book this hotel direct after seeing very high reviews on it. However the website site is quite deceiving because there are 2 Hotel Forte’s in Vieste almost side by side. One is new and the other (where we stayed) is like stepping back into the 1970’s. The reception staff seemed quite helpful when we arrived with parking and directions but when asked about the town centre we were told that it is a very small town and not a lot of shops. We walked into town about 23 mins and it was amazing with lots of little lane ways and shops and restaurants. The views in the town are amazing. The walk in is long but on a slow incline. In the town there are lots of stairs but also ways around them. Back to the hotel. Parking easy just across the street in an open public car park. Two lifts in the hotel (one strictly for staff) the other for the guests which was very slow. The breakfast area was large and you were allocated a table where you had to stay for the rest of your stay at the hotel. The Breakfast offer was ok but the room and area was a little grotty. The bar was open from early in the pool area but you couldn’t get a red wine. Even after the pool bar closed and the inside bar opened you couldn’t get a bottle of wine to take back to the room only a glass. We ended up going to supermarket and buying one. We asked for 2 glasses and got plastic cheap plastic glasses. The best thing about this hotel was the balcony with sea views but trying to get have a wine on the balcony was a little difficult as there was no room service at all but there was a bar and a restaurant. I asked about the laundry service and was told there was one in town. We had breakfast at the hotel once and then went across the car park to the Beach Bar La Bussola which had great coffee and food. All in all our worst stay in Italy outside of Rome. Don’t stay there."
