"The Green is a stunning house, beautifully and thoughtfully restored, but what really makes it special is the warmth and hospitality. The hosts seem to have perfected that lovely balance of being welcoming and attentive while allowing you to completely relax and enjoy their beautiful home. Our room (Larkspur) was extremely comfortable, with gorgeous bed linen, large fluffy white towels and hand and shower products that smelled divine. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the complimentary tea and biscuits when we arrived to the honesty bar…everything feels generous without being overdone. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, starting with homemade granola and Earl Grey poached pears so good I was tempted to have seconds! It was one of those breakfasts where you could tell real thought had gone into every detail. And then there are the gardens. We loved wandering around them in the morning, discovering the beautiful trees and planting, the Victorian kitchen garden and even purple tomatoes! The whole setting is peaceful and rather magical. We only stayed for one night and genuinely wished it had been longer. The Green is one of those rare places that feels both special and wonderfully relaxed. We would return in a heartbeat.
