This is a great, low key hotel, close to the inlet on Topsail, so quick to get down to the undeveloped area, that also has tidal pools, etc. Also very close to the sound side parking. We stayed in the North apartment. I mistakenly thought it was oceanside, but it was "ocean view" from the deck. That was my mistake! But the deck was great for hanging wet clothes, and has a picnic table for meals. Kitchen was equipped with the basics, and everything was clean. There was a broom for sweeping out sand! We enjoyed having our own rooms and a separate living area. Next time we will get a true ocean view room, but this was great also!

The place is 100% adequate. If you are looking for hilton-like accommodations, go somewhere else. If you want a clean, comfortable, efficient, beachfront room away from the crowds, this is the place for you. We went off season, and there were not many occupied rooms so I cannot say if neighbor noise is a problem. Our requirements for a perfect stay are simple; a short walk to the beach, a comfortable bed, and a clean room. This place delivers all that. We will most definately go back for another visit. Things that may bother some people, but are easily prepared for in advance, and are just part of the experience are: The drive from the bridge to the hotel is all 35/25 mph, pretty long (over 7 miles, I believe), and is enforced. Just remember that you are on beach time. The decor is utilitarian, meaning easy to clean and maintain. There are stairs to all rooms, there is no 1st floor. Eating places and grocery stores are sparse on the island, but more available on the other side of the bridge. Not a criticism at all, but the coffee maker was not equipped with filters, coffee, or creamer/sugar. The one in our room was a 5 cup that uses the small filters. I did not see an ice machine nor any ice cube trays in the fridge, so we made our own.

My family and I visited this past weekend and it was wonderful, I was haul off by ambulance cause I had a lung infection and my family found me out of it in the bathroom. But all said and done . We loved this motel and plan on going back someday longer . Thanks Sea vista

We love Sea Vista!!! Its nothing fancy but we don't need fancy....especially when we are at the beach! The hotel may be old but it is very clean & the staff is attentive to your needs. We have taken our pup's each time & one of the main reasons we have returned there.

My wife and I spent three nights at this off-the-beaten-path gem of a motel and we couldn't have been happier. Ocean-front room with a roomy balcony, on which we had morning coffee as we watched the sun rise and dolphins feeding a short walk away. Furnished with a shorty 'fridge (which had a loose freezer door handle),microwave, comfy couch and side tables with USB ports, we had plenty of room in which to stretch out and unwind, especially considering I require a portable recliner to sleep when we travel (old spinal injury). My wife had no issues with the bed's mattress. It was quiet and the facility has a secure parking area that requires a pass code to get in. The only issue (minor to us) would be that the room was a little dated, but more than adequate for our needs, and everything worked. The motel is very dog-friendly and we'll be bringing our pooch on our next visit. If you want restaurants, grocery stores and shops close by you'll be a little disappointed, though we were able to get pizza delivery. This location takes a bit to get to through 35...and 25...MPH zones, as Sea Vista is at the very south end of the island. All in all, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Sea Vista.

I am pretty shocked by the negative reviews I have read about Sea Vista. I had a completely delightful stay. My room was spacious and very clean. I had a full kitchen, ample storage space, and the bed was pretty comfortable. The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating. This is a no frills motel that is incredibly reasonably priced, pet friendly, and has amazing oceanfront views. I am not exactly sure what those who have written negative reviews were expecting from a beachfront motel with this fantastic price tag, but I think they might be travelers who possess very unrealistic expectations. My pups and I look forward to returning to Sea Vista next summer.

The staff was very nice, the beach is beautiful but the place desperately needs some updates.A coat of paint and some landscaping would do wonders. A pool would be nice too. The mattress was very good and the kitchen was well stocked. We heard every move the people above us made. They were very loud. However it is very pet friendly as well as the beach. There are no set times to have your pet on the beach as it is in myrtle beach and cherry grove. Over all it was a good experience.

Who would put an elderly couple on the third floor? That's about 30 steps ... Several times a day! The room was thrown together, with the focal point being two beds with horrible spreads, and sheet hanging out under the bed! I thought it looked fairly clean, until I swept the sand up, and a water bottle rolled out from under the bed! The edges of the baseboards hid a mound of filth and there were NO handicapped rails in the bath! We had a terrible time finding restaurants that were pet friendly, we got pretty sick of fast food.It was so hard getting down the embankment to the beach. We both had aches from the soft bed, and knee pain from climbing the steps... After two days of our five day stay, we both felt so bad that we decided to go home. It was worth losing the money to get out of this slum!
