I came during a not quiet time in Ashdod With my team to cover what is happening in the south The staff accommodated us properly The rooms are clean There are laundry services There is breakfast In addition, dinner can be purchased The room served our needs for work The place is quiet There are safe places Overall very pleasant

located at the southern end of the sea front, a quiet area, so more peaceful, grand breakfast, clean and updated room.

To start off I was very disappointed with the parking situation. (this hotel has weddings few times a week and a lot of guests comes and goes to the pool , to the wedding etc. they are NOT a guests of the hotel and take up all parking spaces which leave us the hotel guests no parking and we have to walk a lot and Parkette or very far away! I’ve had my elderly mother with me and it was a nightmare! Check in and check out was SO long and for no reason. Lastly they gave me a room without balcony when I specifically asked for one. I will not stay there again. 😏

To start with, we arrived and approached reception and asked to check in. The woman seat d there said that she was from security and couldn't help and all reception staff meeting were on a break. I went back 10 minutes later and asked for a manager. Eventually a rude grumpy woman came out and without so much as a greeting (or a response to mine) proceeded to check us in. Check-in was an unnecessary unpleasant experience. The pool area was dirty with food remains all over the place. This attracted lots of flies. The pool is a great size and has a glass fence enclosure all around it, which is good for those with toddlers who may run into the pool. The lifeguard (who looked like he was 18) was either on his phone or playing with it, rarely paying attention to all the children in the pool. He took a break and left the pool enclosure going to a corner by the fence to have a cigarette (by the "no smoking" sign), leaving the pool enclosure unattended. The rooms are clean, but dated and in need of a major renovation. There are also badly planned with the minibar cupboard sticking out from under the dresser. This hotel has a great sea view and is close to the beach. It has so much wasted potential. A bit of staff training, refreshing the rooms and better constant pool area cleaning could mak this a wonderful hotel. For now, it's a mediocre 3 star Fawlty Towers

Hotels in Israel can rate themselves, the Leonardo Plaza in Ashdod has seen for to give itself 4 stars. It is not 4 star more like 3 star and a little plus. We booked a 3 night stay, the hotel is situated just outside the main port city of Ashdod, most of the rooms have a good view and with our room being on the top 12th floor we had a view overlooking the city and a sea view. The main problem is that it is in the middle of a redevelopment, although no work was taking place while we were there, it’s not very pretty. We arrives after a delayed flight near to midnight, checkin was quick but no assistance with the luggage and no assistance given that we could use trolleys, we couldn’t even find them so although the lift weren’t too far away lugging 3 large suitcases and hand luggage was difficult. We found the room ok, it was adequate, air conditioning a must, the window could be opened, a safe in the wardrobe and an empty fridge. The bathroom is small with the shower being in the bath. The double king size bed was comfortable The following morning, breakfast. If you’ve never had an Israeli breakfast, it’s a sight, yesterdays pizza, raw fish, pastries, eggs any way you want them, meats, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, I think I saw pasta. People were filling their plates as if it was the last meal they were to have. It’s a free for all with guests coming and going, bumping into each other. There’s plenty of tables available unfortunately if someone is sitting on the table next to you, you might find it difficult to get in the table are so near to each other. The orange, grapefruit juice is out of a carton and watered down. Tea and coffee is served from a counter into paper cups but the the milk and sugar is at the other end of the restaurant. Not very good planning. Getting your food is quite something, nothing is labelled, there are no bowls, only plated so if you want say a fruit salad (out of a tin) with yogurt it’s goes on a plate, same with cornflakes or anything else you need a bowl for. There are no table spoon only tea spoons, when asked for bowls or table spoons you’re met with a shrug. Once you’ve got through breakfast it’s time for the pool, the one defining factor of the hotel although some of the poolside loungers were in need of repair, but the water was clean and in general the pool surround was quite clean. Also, check the season you go, July is wedding month, I lost count of the weddings that took place, noisy and very busy with wedding guests, photographers and videos who think they are making a screen classic shouting, look her in the eyes, make that you love each other. Yes, they were actually calling out this to the wedding couple. On checkout with 3 or 4 staff behind the counter, the receptionist didn’t even take her feet off the chair, wished us a good day, nothing extra to pay (it was prepaid) and wished us a good day. This time we found the luggage trolly and managed the luggage ourselves. We’ve been once, we won’t

Nothing unique about the hotel

Room was not clean… bathrooms dirty Beds dirty not only in my room but all our reservations had problems with cleanliness… found a spider in bed and slept on a chair …

I had a good experience in the hotel- clean, staff very attentive- good breakfast though not as some other breakfasts at Israeli hotels I have eaten in past five years. Bed comfortable. Great view of the Ashdod "Eye". and the beach- not direct view of the beach but a little piece of it- Able to walk to beach in 8 minutes from hotel-
