We have just returned from nine nights at this lovely hotel. We booked the least expensive room, without a sea view, but had a good sized balcony looking at the hillside. Some reviews say the rooms are dated but we found ours to be well-appointed, with fridge, four complimentary bottles of mineral water, an excellent bathroom, flatscreen TV etc. Housekeeping was very good, leaving the room spotless every day, with clean towels. The pool is well-maintained, there is (as other reviewers have said) a rush for sunbeds, but we had no problem in securing two, if you're not too particular about the exact position, it's fine. There is ample shade both from umbrellas and trees, shrubs etc. The pool bar is relatively well-priced for a hotel, and service is friendly, if a little slow. The White Sails rooftop à la carte restaurant (additional charge) is worth every penny for the wonderful views of the coastline, sunset etc. The staff up there are lovely, especially Anna. Breakfast is wide-ranging and plentiful, with choices for all tastes. A special mention to the young chef who makes fresh omelettes every morning, who always has a smile on his face and time for a chat. Travellers with mobility issues will need to note that the hotel has no lifts. Otherwise, there are always staff to help with luggage etc. Reception staff are helpful and friendly, and explain everything on check in. We found it easier to walk down the sloping driveway than the steps to reach the road. From the bottom, it is a few minutes to Kokokounaries beach, and a few more to tavernas behind the lagoon. The bus service from Stop 22 into Skiathos town (or the other direction) is every ten minutes or so from early morning to late at night - and inexpensive. Would we return? Yes, in a heartbeat - and we're already looking forward to it.
