르 파빌리온 드 마고(Hotel de Margaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine))

Hotel in direct neighborhood to Château Margaux. We had the Angelus room, spacey and comfortable, big bathroom with large shower. Very well heated in winter. Easy parking in front of the hotel. Reception is flexible and helpful but not frequently working, communication should be improved. Restaurant in the house is closed, only a hotel garni now. No complimentary water in the room, only overpriced mini-bar.

Great location, Great Value for Money. Nothing too fancy, but perfect for the price. Breakfast was good and there were plenty of things to eat. I will come back, It is the perfect place if you don't look for a fancy, premium hotel.

Not staffed at all, keys just left in our room doors to an open and vacant property. We requested x2 double rooms and got a twin and double. One double room only had a single bath towel not two and the worst thing was.. bed bugs! I was bitten everywhere. Worst thing is there was absolutely no one around to help or complain to. A beautiful hotel & setting but the service was the worst I’ve experienced with the added bites- avoid!

Not realy a hotel, just some rooms in a house. No staff available and no reception. Breakfast was for free and based on this ok but otherwise very poor and unproffessional. Our room was nice but smell of poor ventilation and humidity, like a cellar below ground level. We can recommend this if the price was half and the expectations as well.

Loved it, they couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Customer service 10/10

Stopped in for a quick early dinner as staying in another hotel in the town. Moderately priced food and wine, simple but could be much more. Very dated and tired restaurant which looked like a faulty towers set. The service was superb, the young lady was pleasant and happy, speaking some English which helped with our limited French! With a return and updated menu this could be a fabulous venue in the centre of Margaux.

My mother and I stayed there for 3 nights in July. We each had room. Pros: - Architecturally nice main building - Lovely helpful staff (but see below) - At the edge of Margaux with vineyards on the side of the grounds. It feels like you are having breakfast in the vineyards. - 10 mins walk from Chateau Margaux. - Nice pool but not at the hotel. You will have to walk to Chateau Marojallia 5 mins away. - generous free parking facilities. Cons: - Superficially clean but deep cleaning is needed (my mother's fridge was dirty) - The staff do everything from reception, cleaning and serving in the restaurant which probably explains why they don't have the time to clean fully the rooms. The only thing they don't do is the "cooking". - I am comfortable that a least some of the food served in the restaurant is not made on the premises. I would probably say all but conversations with the staff on this were only about some of the food. - Tattered decor. - Problems with water pressure in the rooms: too much for me (on the first day the shower head actually came off its holder and spun around the bathroom as if it had a life on its own). Not enough water pressure in my mother's room. - Poor wifi and TV doesn't work well.

We loved staying in the Chateaux across from the hotel. It was so quiet, unspoilt and pleasant. Anna and the other staff were so kind and helpful. Would definately stay again.

We arrive early Sunday evening and no one was at the hotel. In French only it gives you a number to call. Our phone would not connect. We stopped a gentleman to call for us. Turns out the door was open and key in the room. Restaurant closed. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and there was absolutely nothing open anywhere. Not even a Tabac. We split a granola bar and an orange from breakfast. Would have appreciated a heads up on line regarding check in and a caution regarding no services in town, or perhaps a little something in the room for us.
