"As a member of Sterling Resorts since 1998, I have had the privilege of visiting this resort at Puri numerous times over nearly three decades. My most recent stay was between 27th and 30th May 2026, and while there were many positives, there remain some recurring concerns that deserve attention. First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge the exceptional hospitality extended by the team. The Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, and Kitchen staff were uniformly courteous, approachable, and eager to assist throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Mr. Ranjit and the Front Office team, who continue to be one of the strongest pillars of the resort. Their professionalism, efficiency, warmth, and guest-centric approach consistently make every stay seamless and enjoyable. Whether it is handling requests, resolving concerns, or simply making guests feel welcome, the Front Office team sets a very high standard. The Housekeeping team was equally impressive. The cleanliness of the property, attention to detail, and prompt response to guest requirements reflect a level of commitment that deserves appreciation. Their efforts significantly contribute to the comfort and overall experience of guests. The Food & Beverage Service team also deserves recognition. The service staff were attentive, sincere, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests were comfortable. Their hospitality and positive attitude remained exemplary throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the same praise cannot be extended to the food itself. Over our last several visits, we have consistently observed a decline in food quality, taste, and overall consistency. Dishes frequently fail to match the expectations created by their descriptions, flavours vary considerably from one meal to another, and the overall quality often falls short of what one would expect from a resort of Sterling's reputation. What is particularly disappointing is that these concerns have been repeatedly communicated to the relevant authorities during multiple visits. While immediate corrective measures are often attempted during the stay, they tend to feel like temporary fixes rather than part of a long-term solution. Despite repeated feedback over the years, there appears to be little sustained improvement in the food being served. I would like to make it clear that this observation is not directed at the attitude, commitment, or hospitality of the kitchen team. Executive Chef Abhijit Nag and his team have always been extremely gracious, respectful, and accommodating. They listen attentively to feedback, engage positively with guests, and genuinely appear committed to delivering a good experience. The team is undoubtedly competent and capable. However, for reasons that are difficult for guests to understand, the food coming out of the kitchen continues to remain inconsistent in both quality and taste.
