더 우든 하우스 로지(The Wooden House Hotel)

Oh my god. I ordered the fish and it was not cooked and smelled and tasted rancid. When I told them they said sorry do I WANT TO BUY something else. No Way. Stay away stay away. Hope I do not get sick. Also was suppose to have meal when we got there and we had to wait 50 minutes. Beware would give a negative number if offered

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans cet hotel charmant. Le personnel est attentionné et nous avons pu profiter du jardin et de la piscine. Ambiance décontractée où l'on se sent comme à la maison. Nous avons été très bien accueilli, la chambre était grande et fonctionnelle et les parties communes très agréables. Le petit déjeuner est frais et copieux.

This “hotel” is .4 miles from city center, it is difficult to get a taxi, it is blazing hot to walk into town during the day, and there was construction going on until at least 8 pm. There is no real travel service here so the only way to organize is your o go to town. Rooms have thin walks and you can hear your neighbours. There is a small pool and bar - but it is at the entrance and not appealing. I do have to say the breakfast was ok and that is why they got 1 star. Not a relaxing vacation spot.

El hotel está situado entre el puerto y el centro y está en un lugar tranquilo. Nuestra habitación (suite) estaba decorada muy bonita, toda de madera y el baño era amplio. Había unas escaleras que llegaban a una cama en el piso de arriba. Carlos, el manager, fue muy amable en todo momento y nos ayudó con algunos toures. Por la situación del covid no había buffet de desayuno, pero el que nos pusieron en mesa estaba muy rico. Lo único es que el internet no era súper bueno.

The wooden house provides a very nice refuge after all of the exciting Galapagos excursions. It provided a nice breakfast, has a full bar, small swimming pool, laundry, service, a line for drying your own clothes and strong Wi-Fi. The staff was truly lovely and extremely helpful. they called us taxis whenever we needed one, let us use their dryer. The downsides that we noticed were that the room was a little bit small, and the location of the hotel is close to the dock and walking distance to town but not the most central. There were many hotels that were much closer to the beach.

The wooden house is a hidden gem. Family run and very kind, also clear communication which we really appreciated after a few days of miscommunication with our tour company. The rooms are recently renovated and gorgeous. Comfortable beds with cozy linen and beautiful wood structures everywhere. Their daily breakfast is delicious and changes; we had dinner there one evening and it was really good as well with many options. The hotel manager was awesome and helpful while we were there. Walking distance downtown and to many sightseeing spots. It’s about 100m from the marina which is also very convenient. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Wooden House. The room was very comfortable with unique aesthetics. They offer a variety of services, such as laundry, beach towels, snorkeling gear, bar and restaurant. The host gave us multiple recommendations of things to do on the island and thanks to him we got to experience the highlands with the locals.

The best part about the stay at Wooden House is its staff. Specially the owner, Jose, is very friendly and accommodating. He helped us organized our activities in Isabella and with every request we had, including snorkeling gear. The room was very spacious and clean, and the food was the best I had in the Island. However, hot water can take a while as the hotel uses solar panels.

La verdad es que todo se ha pasado muy bien. La habitación (n°6) estupenda para 2 adultos y 2 niños, Carlos ha sido de muy buen consejo y siempre disponible. Los desayunos buenísimos, y la cena que hicimos (langostinos) deliciosa. Puede felicitar el chef. Wendy también muy agradable. Y hemos descubierto una isla preciosa. Nos ha gustado muchísimo.
