세네터 푸에르토 플라타(Senator Puerto Plata Spa Resort)

When we 1st checked in, the iron was not working (not that big of a deal) and the shower began to overflow out into the bedroom (big deal). The phone to call the front desk was not working so the boyfriend had to walk to the front desk to notify them of the overflowing bathroom. We were transferred to an older room further away. The second room had that old musty smell and the ac was not working. For this inconvenience, we should have been upgraded. The only positive review I can give for this resort is the good tasting food provided and the massage I received. I was disappointed with the room situation and feel the resort did not live up to its 4 star review rating. Would not return here or recommend this resort.

This was the worst stay I ever had. Staff barely spoke English. They didn't have hot water at all. Showers was cold. You have to pay for room service. We didn't have face towels or regular towels when we checked in. Would not be going back

This facility is old and needs updating and the food was cold /. They had power outage frequently and we couldn’t flush toilets when light was off overall was a terrible experience we would never ever visit this resort again it could not get any worst as our vacation was totally ruined.

Wonderful Staff Maria Castillo ones again taking care about us, Italian , Japanese and steak house make us so happy, We can't wait to came again this amazing place

We didn't enjoyed our stay this time. The electricity when off at 2:am on 1st January 2024 ans lasted more than 12 hours. Water went also off for almost the same tiem or more. We end up taking a shower with the bottles of water (less that 20 OZ. We went there to enjoy all king of music during New Year CElebration Party but they only played Techno and Ultra music, not even one song in Spanish like Merengue o Bachata.

Stayed at imperial suit and didnt even had a desk or chair for computer .. there is no one welcoming you or helping to get luggage out of the car. The bathroom smell bad and then it spread to the room. The food is always the same at the buffet and very limited options. Ice cream shop smell bad.. pizza restaurant has limited options. coffee shop very limited with almost no pastry. Compare to any other hotel at punta Cana this would rate 1. Very disappointed. And they say is a 5 star . Not sure how..

This place was a horrible. The water didn't work for half the 4 days stay. the electricity went out and this may be a problem beyond their control, but the water should work.

This was my first time visiting puerto plata and to be honest the resort was the worst place I’ve ever been. Never going back there. If you want better quality and better service go to another resort in punta cana.

Overall, I’d say I had a pretty good experience at the Senator Resort. I would say that the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The first night I was there there was a chemical like odor in my room, I guess from the cleaning products, but I knew I would not be able to stay in there. When I bought the issue up to customer service, they immediately put me in another room – a nicer room might I add, definitely an upgrade. There was a lot of entertainment the staff hosted games and activities for the guests. I went during the Christmas holidays so they turned it up a notch and the dinner display for Christmas was incredible. There are a lot of shops at the resort for personal items, souvenirs,etc. Everything that you need it was right there at the resort. They had multiple pools on site as well as it was a beachfront property. I would say my main complaint was the food. The taste was mediocre, and they served the same food every day, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas day, where they put out an elaborate spread. On a couple of occasions, I saw hair in the food dirty dishes and lots of flies! The pizza taste like cardboard and the steakhouse was very disappointing. However, the hibachi restaurant was a hit! The food there was delicious.
