This is a really delightful little hotel. with a great simple breakfast. The rooms are simple and spotlesly clean, there is a cosy reception area with drinks and coffee available, and a simple but perfect breakfast. its beside a service station which gas KFC, McDonalds, Gregs and Subway, and accross the main road is a harvester restaurant. EV charger is available for a fixed price of 12.50, its a slow charger but still very good value. Overall, a great hotel for the price.

We usually stay at Prem Inn for our parkrun tourism but as this hotel was opposite a ‘Purple Palace’ we checked the price and found it was significantly cheaper. We were very pleased to find that our room was immaculately clean. Slightly smaller than a typical purple room but very similar in appearance and completely adequate for our 1 night stay. The man on reception was extremely welcoming, check in was quick and simple. There’s a breakfast service (we didn’t use it) and a small ‘bottle bar’ at reception for drinks (again we didn’t use). The Harvester restaurant / pub is just a short walk away and is what you’d expect of that chain and the petrol station next door has an Asda Express shop and a Greggs. All in all we were very pleased and will certainly check if there’s a Best Western next time we’re going away as a cheaper alternative to the purple lot. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Very clean and decent hotel. Rooms are bit small but they are super clean, tidy. Rooks has a table and chair to work with and nice comfy bed. Free parking. There is a McDonald’s and KFC next door. Also subways if you fancy.

Un peu déçu par une tv dont le débit ne permettait pas de suivre le super match de rugby… ni le son ni l’image étaient fluide ! Le matelas du canapé lit du petit était vraiment d’un confort plus que moyen par rapport aux tarifs Le pommeau de douche est fixé au mur, ça m’a rappelé plus le camping qu’un hôtel 3 étoiles… Et pour finir, le grille pain s’est acharné sur mon pain de mie et est sortie limite brulé… Bref un peu creux !

Noisy road. Every time we went to our room, and it was the furthest from reception our door key would not work and i had to go back to the reception to get my keycard re-scanned. Breakfast was awful, we were sat in the reception area for it, so people coming and going. And food was limited and cooked food was microwaved, not sure they even put the yolks in the scrambled eggs as it was solid and whitish grey. Dont think i will be staying here again.

Everything about the place was fine other than the room smelling of stale smoke.

It was amazing staying at the hotel, fantastic service, fabulous staff and food too.

Arrived cold needing to warm up. Room was cold and no bath. Apart from that it is an ok stay.

No restaurant, so 'evening meal' is a pizza - 'which of the three types do you want?' But it was very hot and tasty, so fine for one night, but not for a week or so. Local KFC. But I had finished my job that day, so was hoping to get off early the following morning - missing breakfast - if i was up early enough. I had the best sleep i have had for ages, sleeping from 10:30 at night to 5 in the morning. Thank you for an excellent sleep.

I stayed overnight at the Best Western Pontypool Metro Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. Overall a good experience and very good value for money
