I spent an amazing month at the Quinta. I love the concept—this beautiful, spacious house and garden offer plenty of privacy and a high-quality working environment, yet it’s easy to connect with other guests or the kind and helpful staff. I especially appreciated the lovely veggie garden, full of fresh, seasonal produce and herbs. I also joined a few yoga classes, which were a wonderful addition to the experience.

My stay there was wonderful. Jaime was really helpful throughout my visit. I loved the rustic vibe of the place and their focus on sustainability. The natural pool they is beautiful and it was fun watching the frogs there. I would definitely be visiting there again.

I had the privilege of living in this wonderful house for three weeks, and through that experience, I’ve found a little piece of myself. From the very first tour, I fell in love with this Quinta, which radiates such a grounded energy. The rooms and the entire building are always kept clean, and there’s a cleaning and laundry service. It feels like being pampered in a hotel. The housemates you meet there also make the stay something truly special by beeing thoughtful, tidily and commuicative. If you need to work, there’s a spacious co-working area, but also desks in the very cozy bedrooms. The kitchens are fully equipped and offer more than you could ever use. Additionally, they—along with the living room area—serve as gathering spots for wonderful evenings with wine, self-cooked food and great company. The BBQ area is just as inviting. What I enjoyed most was my morning coffee by the lovingly designed swimming pond or on the cozy old bench in front of the house with a view of the sea. Tania is the gem of the house, and through her—her wonderful ideas for joint excursions or gatherings, her calm, loving, and witty personality, and her sense of structure—the stay at Quinta Do Bom Despacho becomes unforgettable, and leaving is incredibly sad. Of course, the hosts Joana and Jaime, along with all the staff, are also always working with great humor and passion to ensure that nothing is lacking and that the entire property is beautifully maintained. Finally, I highly recommend renting a car. The Quinta can help with that as well. The location of the house is perfect for excursions in all directions—you don’t need to travel far to reach many places, but with public transportation, many hidden gems of the island that are only accessible by car would remain out of reach. Also, always be prepared for any kind of weather (including rain) at any time. It's a beautiful place with an amazing energy. My room was spacious, clean and I had a very comfortable bed. Wifi was working without any issues. Kitchen is well equiped and you can rent a car which was a big plus. People running the place are very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend to stay there.

Incredible place. I cannot recommend it enough. From the vegetables you can pick for your meals, the beds, to the pool! If I ever return to Sao Miguel I will be staying here again! The positioning was very handy to explore the island.
