오포노니 라이트하우스 모텔(Opononi Lighthouse Motel)

This is a nice place. Near the water ( lovely harbour ) but designed in such a way that one cannot see the water from your unit. However the unit I had was roomy, clean and comfortable. The welcome was friendly and warm. The biggest problem was the security. The key could not be taken out of the lock. I reported it and even though the lady was friendly she was not concerned about my security. "the locks are tricky !". I had to mount chairs at the entrance door as anyone who could use the 'tricky' lock could have entered during the night. This issue needs to be attended to

We loved our stay at The Lighthouse Motel. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The beach, across the road, had a beautiful outlook of the sand dunes and harbour. I enjoyed the well maintained gardens that surrounded, as they were bright with colours of hibiscus, roses and more. A more than adequate range of restaurants were within an easy stroll. Thank you for smiley, welcoming service. Will definitely come again.

Excellent location. Excellent hosts. Enjoyed it very much. Just want to stay there again, the area and the hotel are so refreshingly quiet and beautiful.

Quaint little hotel room with beach across street. Had a small deck with tropical plants surrounding us. Lady who checked us in was fantastic - we were running a tad late (6:30) but she was waiting for us and told us to head immediately to fish and chip stand as it was almost closing time. Made it with only minutes to spare.

It’s a great location and the site and rooms are spotless and the grounds superbly maintained . Not much happens locally so you do need to plan that said it’s a great base to explore . The owners and staff are very helpful and always have a smile for you . No air con in rooms so would be warm in height of summer

A single night en route from taipa to Auckland. Very comfortable accommodation and friendly welcome.

The hostess was particularly helpful and attentive. The gardens were beautifully maintained.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a beautiful established garden outside our rooms. It has a lovely relaxed family friendly vibe. The beach was just across the road and we could see the Hokianga harbour entrance. Thank you

If I could give more stars I would! This place was beyond amazing. Right on the water so you have quick access to the beach. The people running the hotel were so lovely and helpful and friendly with many suggestions for things to do. The unit was spotless and had everything you could need (plus a dehumidifier for the muggier days). Comfortable bed. Great wifi. Kitchen has everything. Beautiful outdoor table overlooking the water for morning coffee. Lastly, the flowers and plants around the property are breathtaking. Shower is on the smaller side, but was not a problem for me.
