Great hotel with great staff! Hotel was totally clean and cozy with the good location. Ill visit here again next time.

Very disappointing! What was up sold on line as a junior suite was basically a single room, tiny aged and dirty bathroom, uncomfortable bed with cheap pillows. The windows were so dirty, you can barely see outside, zero facilities other than a quest lounge that even the only single amenity of coffee wasn’t even stocked.

The staff is great and helpful. Always there for you. A lot of nice restaurants around and good transportation options ( subway, taxis, Uber, etc.). Small and cozy hotel.

The Moderne is a quirky little place with a great location. Not good if you’re looking for a tall hotel with a view within spitting distance of Times Square, but great if you want something clean, quiet and within walking distance of TS and Central Park. It worked great for our purposes - seeing our daughter perform a block away, then hitting the sights the next day. The night desk shift was functional, but not very informative. The gentleman working the day shift the next morning was wonderful - told us about the hotel’s great second floor lounge, with tea and coffee and comfy couches and a view out of the front window (most or all of the rooms have no view). He offered to watch our baggage for as much of the day as we wanted even though we were checking out that morning. As for the room itself: we had two double beds. They were rather low and at first were reminiscent of futon mattresses, but they ended up being very comfortable. We slept quite well. The bathroom is brightly lit and updated - the shower has a detachable handheld option, which I love. All in all, I would recommend this place. It’s not flashy from the outside, and it is small (not the rooms - the hotel), but it suited our needs nicely.

Great location walking distance from Central Park and Times Square, several restaurants and bakeries around. Friendly staff. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Downside - one elevator that is slow which was not an issue for us in early March but I can see it becoming an issue during heavy season. Room has no view (window opened to a wall of the adjacent building) which was not an issue for us as we were out most of the time. The wallpaper in the hallways may not appeal to many people. Overall, it was convenient, comfortable, and good value. We would stay there again.

Lots of great things! Staff, umbrella, information, convenience, stylish. However, A/C is not working and my room is 78 degrees. I’m used to 68. Sweating in here. :/

This is a great little hotel. Close to everything but just high enough above time sq to be away from massive tourist crush. Lots of little cafes, restaurants and bars visit. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The fridge and unlimited bottle water is a nice bonus. I will def stay here again.

This is a quaint little New York boutique hotel with a mid-century modern vibe. It is clean. Our room was cleaned promptly every morning. The staff was courteous and the location was convenient.
