The Beech Grove Farmhouse is an early century farmhouse situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, has a sprawling two acre private yard, fire pit, hammock and swing, with beautiful mountain views and is across from Devils Backbone Brewery and Distillery. Located just five miles from the Wintergreen Resort, one mile from Bold Rock Cidery, Blue Toad Cidery and is along Nelson 151 Trails. The Appalachian Trail and other scenic trails are all around the area.
Located inside the farmhouse is a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, mud room, laundry room and a cozy living room. WiFi service is provided for our guests. The primary bedroom is located on the first floor with the other two bedrooms on the second floor. Each has ample closet space and a tv with a dvd player. This house is perfect for families, travel nurses, telecommuters, parents of graduating university students, easy-going cowboys and cowgirls, and respectful bachelor/bachelorette trips. We are a short 2.5-hr drive SW from DC and 1.5-hr drive west of Richmond. Leave the hustle and bustle behind, and recharge in the mountain air! Located on Nelson29 and 20-minutes from Nelson151, our cottage is nestled within our multi-generational cattle farm. Wake up to sunrises over the pond with a cup of locally roasted coffee and toast a glass to cotton candy sunsets behind the mountains at dusk! Don't let the frogs nightly serenade lull you to sleep before the stars come out! Watch the cycles of the farm's hay production through the year and meet our cows! Craft memories around our handmade farm tables from oak trees on property! Our cottage has luxury memory foam mattresses for a great night's sleep, multiple Smart TVs with Hulu, fiber optic Wi-Fi for telecommuters, a sunroom with 180-views of the farm perfect for yoga, a fully furnished kitchen with settings for 12+, and games for inside and outdoors that will keep you busy, when you're not hiking, hunting, riding, fishing, off-roading, golfing, skiing/snowboarding, biking, kayaking, spectating, and tasting your way around the area.
Looking for fun things to do nearby? Catch a game at the Nelson County High School (across the street), at Liberty University (31 min.), or UVA (39 min)! Stock up on wine, beer, and spirits at some of our favorite local award-winning breweries, wineries, and distilleries, including: Blue Mountain Brewery Barrelhouse, Lovingston Winery, Virginia Distillery, Woodridge Farm Brewery, Bold Rock Cidery, Three-Notched Brewery, Devils Backbone Brewing and Distillery Company, Veritas, and Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards! We are happy to help with tour/transportation vendor recommendations! Pick apples, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, pumpkins, and cherries at the local orchards, depending on the season! The house is two stories with the kitchen, three bedrooms (one twin with an adjustable Tempur-pedic frame and two queens), two bathrooms, dining room for 12, and a sunroom on the second floor. The living room with a table that can seat 6, a bathroom, and a bedroom (queen) are all on the first floor. Unfortunately, our cottage is not ADA compliant. Escape to this spacious retreat with a hot tub and everything you need to get away. The wooden interior will take you to a rustic cabin with all the modern amenities you need.
Enjoy some alone time in the loft reading a book or play a game with the family at the large table. Gather around the fire pit, relax in the hot tub, fish in the pond, or get cozy around the wood stove. Settle down on the large deck to enjoy the mountain air, watch the sunset over the trees, or just listen to the sounds of nature.
Our cabin features a private bedroom downstairs with a queen size bed and an upstairs loft with 3 separate sleeping areas. A full bed area with it's own balcony, an area with 2 twin sized beds and another area with 2 queen sized beds. Big enough for the whole family! The large great room has plenty of things to keep you busy should you decide to stay inside. Or find many outdoor activities on site such as hiking and fishing in the private pond, or take a short drive from the cabin for all your outdoor experiences.

Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains you will find yourself only miles away from Crabtree Falls (largest cascading waterfalls east of the Mississippi), an abundance of hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), and fishing holes galore (stocked ponds as well as stocked and native trout streams).
Within an hour drive to skiing, golf courses and the well known restaurants, breweries, distilleries and wineries on Nelson 151.
Guests will pass the country store and gas station on the way in, less than 3 miles away. Once you turn off of Route 56 (Crabtree Falls Highway) the road is gravel from about a mile in all the way to the cabin. There are sections that may be difficult to traverse in inclement weather (snow/ice). Please proceed with caution. 4WD or AWD recommended in the winter.
Security cameras are located at the front door, overlooking the pond and on the front corners of the house. Cameras are turned off for your stay after check-in.

The yurt is well insulated & has a mini split that really cranks out the heat/AC. There is also a fireplace, electric blankets & a space heater to ensure you stay nice and toasty. You'll have a ceiling fan & portable fan to stay cool on the warmer days.
Make meals in the fully-stocked kitchenette that has a 2 burner hot plate, air fryer that also has toaster & baking functions, crock pot, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, Fridge & Freezer. If you’re wanting to grill out, we’ve got you covered with a charcoal grill!
Have a nice chat by the fire pit over a glass of wine. Stargaze with the telescope (the sky is so beautiful here)! Relax in the hammock with a magnificent view of the mountains. Blue Ridge Heaven is located at an elevation of 3,850 feet atop Devils Knob – the highest point at Wintergreen Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy the best views in central Virginia from one of three decks or many picture windows. Blue Ridge Heaven offers the best mountain, valley, and long-range southern views of any Wintergreen home on the rental market, yet is just minutes from the ski slopes, hiking trails, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, and breweries/wineries/cideries on Route 151.
Blue Ridge Heaven was extensively renovated in 2020 with a totally updated kitchen, and new heating & air conditioning, appliances, furnishings, flooring, paint and lighting throughout. Renovations were made to maximize energy efficiency, use of sustainable materials, and purchase of locally or regionally produced products where practical. The home’s bathrooms were newly renovated in May 2025.
Enjoy cathedral ceilings throughout the upper level, which includes a large family room with a stone fireplace and 65-inch Samsung smart TV, kitchen, half bath, and a primary bedroom with its own bathroom. The well-stocked kitchen features quartz countertops, a large quartzite island with four bar stools, LG and Bosch appliances, and an adjacent dining area with a dining table with seating for eight. There is a propane gas grill on the deck by the kitchen. A laundry room and half bath are also on the upper level.
The lower level includes another primary bedroom with its own bathroom, 3 other bedrooms (including a bunk room), and a second family room with stone fireplace and 55-inch Samsung smart TV. A second full bathroom is located on the lower level.
Note - There are about 25 stairs down from the driveway to the entrance.
