A full bed area with it's own balcony, an area with 2 twin sized beds and another area with 2 queen sized beds. Big enough for the whole family! The large great room has plenty of things to keep you busy should you decide to stay inside. Or find many outdoor activities on site such as hiking and fishing in the private pond, or take a short drive from the cabin for all your outdoor experiences. Find yourself enjoying the beautiful mountains of Virginia while not missing the amenities of home. Full kitchen and even a stocked coffee bar. While there is no cell reception at the cabin, we do have WiFi for all your connectivity needs. Want to make it a device free weekend? - don't share the password!Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains you will find yourself only miles away from Crabtree Falls (largest cascading waterfalls east of the Mississippi), an abundance of hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), and fishing holes galore (stocked ponds as well as stocked and native trout streams).Within an hour drive to skiing, golf courses and the well known restaurants, breweries, distilleries and wineries on Nelson 151.Guests will pass the country store and gas station on the way in, less than 3 miles away. Once you turn off of Route 56 (Crabtree Falls Highway) the road is gravel from about a mile in all the way to the cabin. There are sections that may be difficult to traverse in inclement weather (snow/ice). Please proceed with caution. 4WD or AWD recommended in the winter. Soak in the spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the top of Wintergreen Resort. High ceilings and open layout make it easy to take in the breathtaking views as soon as you walk in. Enjoy nearby golfing, hiking, and breweries on Nelson 151. Or just hunker down in the fully stocked condo that has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. Watch a movie by the cozy fire, play games at the 8 person dining table, or curl up with a book in the reading nook overlooking the slopes.
Diamond Hill provides gated access (Jan - Mar) to the private parking area. From there, you have 44 steps down to the entrance of the condo. Once inside, open the blinds and enjoy expansive views of the slopes and Blue Ridge Mountains.
There is plenty of space to spread out with the 4 counter seats, dining table that seats up to 8, and a large living room with couch, love seat, recliner, and daybed. The main outdoor space is the deck off of the dining room overlooking the ski slopes that has a table with seating for 4. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and is very well appointed with all the tools you need to make a home cooked meal or manage take out from one of the nearby (and amazing) restaurants.
Wintergreen property owners and their guests can enjoy two swimming pools during the summer; Chestnut Springs on the mountain and Rodes Farm in the valley. The two pools are in well-landscaped settings and have playgrounds for children. Since it can be cool on the mountain even in the summer, the Chestnut Springs pool is heated. Rodes Farm has a park with picnic tables, a pond, a joint pickleball and tennis court, and horseshoes. The summer pool hours for these facilities are typically 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Enjoy cathedral ceilings throughout the upper level, which includes a large family room with a stone fireplace and 65-inch Samsung smart TV, kitchen, half bath, and a primary bedroom with its own bathroom. The well-stocked kitchen features quartz countertops, a large quartzite island with four bar stools, LG and Bosch appliances, and an adjacent dining area with a dining table with seating for eight. There is a propane gas grill on the deck by the kitchen. A laundry room and half bath are also on the upper level.
The lower level includes another primary bedroom with its own bathroom, 3 other bedrooms (including a bunk room), and a second family room with stone fireplace and 55-inch Samsung smart TV. A second full bathroom is located on the lower level.

Nestled in the forest our cozy (yet spacious 2400sqft) well-built three-bedroom log cabin boasts panoramic Blue Ridge mountain views. It is located just outside of Lovingston VA,, the county seat of Nelson County, about halfway between Lynchburg (Liberty University) and Charlottesville (University of Virginia), Virginia.
The cabin is sited four miles off route 29 through some of the most beautiful farmland in the rolling hills of the Virginia Blueridge mountains. The final approach is a long (~300yd), steep, curving gravel drive past a small serene pond and meadow (we call it "the stairway to heaven") guarantees tranquility away from city noise and lights. This feature also serves as your own private hiking trail which can easily be extended by simply continuing along the scenic rural gravel access road for miles in either direction.
Upon arriving up at the cabin parking area, you will pass our large campfire just up the slate stairs at the forests edge to the left with the front porch straight ahead of you. There you will find for your enjoyment a double swing, two rocking chairs, and a large hammock. The front door opens into the spacious open living area with a wood burning stove, ample kitchen with island (seats two) and separate dining area that seats six comfortably.
The French doors open onto the 200 sq. ft. upper deck within the forest which offer mountain views in the fall and winter. The warm motif of this log cabin continues throughout the two roomy upstairs bedrooms and the third bedroom downstairs. The great room is host to a large wood stove, furnished with a queen-size sleeper sofa, 50" plasma tv, and game table that offers your choice of cards, checkers, chess or backgammon. Yoga mats, blocks, straps, and jump rope are available.
The cabin is less than 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville, VA, 35 min to Wintergreen Resort, and close to renowned VA wineries (see Monticello wine trail in photos), breweries, distilleries, and the breathtaking hiking trails of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Shenandoah Valley and Appalachian Trail are within a short drive.

We had an absolutely amazing time at your beautiful home! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at peace. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do. My family loved exploring the local wineries, distilleries, breweries, hiking trails, waterfalls, and restaurants — there was never a dull moment!
But what truly made this trip special was the serenity of the home itself. Waking up each morning to nothing but peace and quiet was a gift. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge between our adventures.
We were in town for my son's graduation from Liberty University, which was nothing short of spectacular. Having such a wonderful place to come back to each day made the entire experience even more memorable.
We did have issues with VRBO and/or Expedia as well, so it's not just you. Thank you for sharing your space with us — we hope to return again soon!

Beautiful secluded cabin. Well equipped kitchen. Perfectly furnished, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the wildlife and stargazing. The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. We stayed over the Christmas week and the Christmas tree and decorations were a nice surprise. A+ we highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and in such a great location. A little bit remote - but still close enough to all of the breweries and wineries we wanted to visit! Everything was clean and the place felt very cozy! It is also extremely well stocked with kitchen supplies. We brought a lot of our own, but the cabin had everything we didn’t bring! There is tons of space inside the cabin and the host was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely recommend staying here!

It was private, had amazing views, and provided us with every modern day accommodation. It was a little far to get to with a long, windy, narrow driveway but we were close to everything we wanted to experience. The surrounding land is very steep and must be explored carefully, but my son loved the little pond on the property. We only reached out once and Michael was immediately responsive and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and stay!"
