Booked on Airbnb, but something felt off with reservation. Tried calling and texting and no answer to find out if we did indeed have a reservation. Called Airbnb they were unable to get ahold of host as well and they cancelled reservation and refunded my money.

DO NOT BOOK. We arrived to find the house deserted, dark and freezing cold. The owner did not respond to text (phone goes to voicemail and the mailbox is full). There was no way we could stay there. Orchard House is spectacular. Go there instead.

We had a delightful two days with our adult daughter, her husband and family friends. "Chef," the chef and the proprietor of the inn was incredibly hospitable. He was also fun as he regaled us with bits of local lore on occasion. The tasty breakfasts were plentiful and were served with champagne that made us feel pampered. Our one dinner at Red Hill defies description. The pumpkin used for delicious pumpkin soup came from the garden outside the kitchen door 30 minutes before we ate it. The filet beef and lamb chops were cooked to perfection, as were the accompaniments. This was our first visit to Red Hill B & B, but definitely not our last! Our best inn experience to date!

World class cuisine is hiding inside this gem of a historic bed and breakfast. My wife and I have travelled across five continents, and the food and hospitality we discovered in Lovingston, VA at Red Hill rivaled the best destinations we've ever been to. The meals far exceeded our expectations and "Chef" the owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The historic home was comfortable and full of charm, and we enjoyed learning about its rich history. The trail around the property takes about 30 minutes to hike and follows the river around two of the fields beyond the old barn. Our stay was so memorable, we returned only a few weeks later just to enjoy the grounds and another meal. I cannot recommend this location high enough, well worth the visit. We'll be back soon and often!

The property owner demands money up front. When you arrive, the place is filthy and smells of old sweat from the couches. The owners pitch emphasizes the food, but walking the kitchen and rooms, seeing rodent problems and old dirty furniture makes it hard to even sit down, no less eat the food. It was so uncomfortable that we left, and the owner kept the money. Insult to injury, the Kimpton down the street gave us a better price and stay.

The place was out of the crowd and the owner was very cooperative. We reached at 11 Am even thought the check in was 4 PM he was okay with us to drop our bags as we wanted to visit winery near by. The room was super clean and there was coffee and a sitting room. We enjoyed our lone time away from social media. Owner has 2 dogs (very friendly) and 2 cats (very quiet) and owner is cook too.
