니코 라군 호텔(Nico Lagoon Hotel)

This was a very nice place to stay. Nico was very helpful and friendly. Of course if you try to find something really fancy you have to go somewhere else. It was so easygoing and fine place to stay. Felt like being at home :). In this neighbourhood there were only locals so it give us a picture how people really live. No too many tourist also. We really liked the place. Even if there wasnt very many quests they made themself a breakfest and dinner for us at the same house not ordering or sending us to somewhere. So if you dream easygoing and clean room with a very friendly host- this is the place.

The location was beautiful and the rooms were clean and spacious. Each of the room had a king size bed and a single bed which could occupy for three people without any issue. View from the lobby area was great overlooking the lagoon and pool. We went for a bed and breakfast option but they didn't have any choices and forcefully we had to eat what they offer which is English breakfast (bread , egg, jam, butter,sausage). I find it negatively as this was the first time a hotel gave bed and breakfast without any options and we really wanted Sri Lankan meals for breakfast. We had a kid aged 3years with us but the staff didn't give food plate for him. water wasn't served after dinner and breakfast. Whilst they arranged the lunch on the table a crow took food from the plate and the waiter blamed us saying why we didn't stay around. Isn't it the waiters job to arrange food and make sure that it is covered? We ordered other two meals from the hotel which was average and not the greatest (mixed seafood rice and nasigoren) . The service offered for locals were minimal as they focused more on the foreigners. Not encouraging for the locals as the service level didn't make the expectations. Pool was maintained but found a crab inside it :-| .. scary but can't blame the hotel. Had a free boat ride on the lagoon which was a plus for me. Service in terms of friendliness and efficiency needs more improvement. No smile on the faces of staff members and doesn't even support the customers. Doesn't consider as a value for money property for locals but for the foreigners it might be a good location as it is closer to the airport .

This place is most suitable for Calm & quiet place lovers! We can use the lagoon near a pool and also kayak ! For beginners their restaurant has a delicious set of menus ! Such as lagoon special mix rice Better pool view Also the owner is very friendly as he really enjoys personality

Nico is very helpful and welcoming, we needed a taxi and in these times when there is no fuel, he went above and beyond to help us on our way. The food is really great. Everything is freshly cooked and tastes really good. The accommodation and pool is clean and the a/c works, which is great because it was very hot in Negombo. Our tip. Don’t organise a taxi from the airport, it is a waste of time and overpriced. If you have an arrival time and flight number, ask Nico to organise a taxi and pick up time for you, we had all kinds of adventures and discussions with taxis along the way to get there. You will have this getting to every accommodation

A nice and clean place, located near the lake in Negombo. Quiet environment, spacious room and value for money. Food was good and staff is friendly too. You can even go for a swim or boat ride at the lake. Would definitely recommend for a stay..

Un très bon endroit pour débuter et/ou finir ses vacances au sri Lanka ! Très proche de l'aéroport, entre Negombo et Colombo, sur un bout de terre entre la mer et un lagon. Nico, le gérant du lieu vous fera l'un des meilleurs rice and curry du sri Lanka, il vous arrangera tous vos transports, visites, et autres services pour vos vacances si vous le souhaitez. Niché, au milieu de la nature, vous y verrez des lucioles, des chauves souris, des varans, et toutes sortes d'oiseaux, sans être dérangé dans vos chambres ! Je recommande!

L’extérieur est vraiment très agréable avec la piscine qui donne sur le lagon. La chambre est correcte avec un petit balcon qui pour nous donnait sur de la végétation un peu en friche. Le - concerne la restauration : de loin le moins bon dîner qu’on ait eu au Sri Lanka et petit déjeuner pas terrible non plus et malheureusement il n’y a pas d’autres possibilités dans le coin. L’hôtel est proche de l’aéroport, ce qui veut dire qu’on entend bien les avions de 4:30 à minuit.
