에울로피엘라(Eulophiella)

What a pleasant surprise! As we were being shown our room, we exchanged surprised glances; so much better than expected, large room, huge bed, bathroom bordering on the luxurious. The Lodge is a series of individual maisonettes with surrounding porch, set in beautifully landscaped gardens, enjoying great views of the surrounding forest. Each morning we heard the eerie calls of the Indri shortly after dawn, a wonderful start to the day. We enjoyed excellent food here and the young general manager, who speaks perfect English, made helpful suggestions about local walks, including one to a nearby series of lakes where waterfowl are easily observed. Productive birdwatching was also possible from one’s private porch. Some people criticise the access road, but it was honestly in very decent condition, and the 5km distance from the main hotel area ensures privacy and silence. We had five nights here and could easily have spent more time, since we saw something new each day.

This is a perfect location for bird spotting and nature explorations. The rooms were large and pleasant, the meals were delicious and the environment was simply stunning with views and trees and many birds. The lodge runs on a generator, so that after around 10 p.m. electricity is shut off. I recommend bringing some good flashlights / emergency light to place in the room for use at night. Wifi in the rooms is limited but there is wifi at the central dining area.

After 5 km along a bumpy road, the Eulophiella hotel appears like a jungle Shangri-La from the old Ronald Colman movie. It is beautifullly designed, in keeping with the natural surroundings We had a bungalow, twice as big as the average hotel room, with a wrap around veranda and a modern and nice looking bathroom. The lobby/dining room is large, comfortable and again lots of natural materials. Food was good quality and the chocolate mousse, using Madagascar chocolate, was the best I've ever had. Breakfast was served at one of the row of tables on the veranda, looking out at the beautifully kept grounds. The hotel is a 25 minute drive from the nearest national park, and is a pleasant place to relax after a busy day. Power goes off at 10:30, LED lamps are supplied in the room. Staff were pleasant and wiiling to help with our little requests. I'd stay here again for its comforts and its design, so congruent with the natural surroundings.

The hotel is set in such nice and calm location but their service is not appropriate. Electricity problen is still far from being solved, it works only few hours at night and a couple of hours in the morning. The owners who are at the same time Managers of the hotel, they are all non flexible and hauty people ( ex: their breakfast time is from 6:30 to 8:00), they did not offer anything to us when we had an earlier departure 6:00 am to catch up an international flight. Even though all meals have been prepaid by the local agency, they insist in sticking to respect their rules of breakfast time.

Struttura molto accogliente in legno, bungalow ben tenuti con acqua calda sempre presente, personale sorridente e premuroso. Tutto inserito in un incantevole giardino fiorito. Ottimo anche il cibo servito al ristorante riscaldato da un enorme camino centrale

Soggiornato 2 notti in questa struttura e sicuramente non nel suo periodo di maggior effetto in quando ad agosto è inverno e la vegetazione/fioriture non sono al massimo. Si tratta di un hotel molto particolare, immerso nella natura a 360°. Gestito da personale giovane, ben preparato e cordiale. La mia camera era nello specifico una casa vera e propria, su due piani. L'arredamento è in materiali per lo più naturali, con una attenta scelta di design. Nonostante lo spazio per me immenso, risulta difficile comprendere il motivo per cui mancavano i "fondamentali" tipo ad esempio comodini o abat-jour o un semplicissimo armadio o almeno un'asta dove appendere un vestito. Non si tratta di essere spartani, perchè il resto dell'arredamento racconta un'altra storia. Va segnalato che alle 22 sparisce totalmente la corrente e al bisogno ci sono delle luci e torce di emergenza azionate da energia solare. Colazione molto semplice servita al tavolo, cena buona servita anch'essa nel lodge centrale con caminetto. In sostanza: ambiente bellissimo e pulito, organizzazione con ampi margini di miglioramento.

Bell8ssimo posto in mezzo alla foresta. Fatto anche un giro notturno nella foresta con un sacco di animali e animaletti. Sistemazione superspaziosa con bagno piu grande del madagascar. Da consigliare. Prersonale gentilissimo Da mangiare come in tutto il madagascar non manca il riso zebu e pesce.

altra tappa del nostro bellissimo viaggio alla scoperta del madagascar organizzato da freebird!! lodge bellissimo in una posizione meravigliosa.. immerso nella natura .. con uccellini che cantano. zona centrale con reception, bar sala ristorante e camino acceso verso sera. camere/bungalow spaziose tutte in legno con letti enormi.. bagno super .. per la luce si attende l'accensione del generatore (alle 22 viene spento ma nelle camere ci sono lampade ricaricate con luce solare). si mangia molto bene (colazione servita sotto il porticato ottima). grazie
