웨이브 스트리트 인(Wave Street Inn)

We absolutely loved our stay at the Wave Street Inn. Carol, at the front desk, was an absolute gem. She was so friendly, helpful, and kind that we would go back just to visit her!! The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the beds are comfortable, TVs had several options to choose from (not that you’re there to watch TV when there’s beautiful Monterey right outside), shower had good water pressure, and there were ample outlet options to plug in devices. I had some work to do (unfortunately) and there was plenty of desk space and good, free wifi available. We did not bring a car, but the parking garage looked easily accessible from the street. The hotel was a short 5-10 minute walk from the beach, the aquarium, and several eating and shopping options. The old fisherman’s wharf is about a 20 minute walk on a nice, paved pedestrian trail. Make sure to take a whale watching cruise while in town! We also took a bus to the Monarch Sanctuary (worth a visit, too, if you’re there at the right time of year). The buses nearby run about every hour and the stop is right around the corner from the Wave Street Inn, next to the CVS.

A comfortable stay with stress free parking. 10 minute walk to the aquarium. Perfect spot for the ease of adventuring Monterey.

Got there a little early. Very accommodating. Our room was ready. King size with ocean view. Clean room. Good size. Big bathroom. Pretty comfortable bed. Noisy heater in bay window with black out curtain inboard of the heater so can’t drop curtain all the way without blocking the heater. Able to block most of street light just not all. Convenient parking on site for minimal cost. Great cafe across the street. Will be back.

Great location! Excellent service. The only downside is that you are required to pay for parking that is part of their hotel. Little things like that are very frustrating.

The inn is well located and a nice property. The beds were comfortable but the noise we experienced from the room directly above us was very frustrating. It seemed like there was no insulation installed when the inn was constructed. The amount of noise we experienced from the room above affected our ability to sleep very well. Of course I don’t know if this is an issue with all the rooms, only the one we stayed in.

Good location, nice staff. Beds and pillows are hard and awful, would recommend putting in comfortable mattress and pillows. Won’t be back because of this.

Very nice staff members. Fantastic location for visiting the M.B. Aquarium, Cannery Row, and walking along the M. Bay bike path / pedestrian path. Parking under the hotel is convenient.

Clean and comfortable. Could use some updated decor. Outside areas a bit rustic and worn. Comfortable bed and bedding and great shower

Great Monterey location. Small Inn with attentive staff. View of the Bay from some rooms. Would definitely recommend Wave Street Inn.
