말바시아 트래디셔널 호텔(Malvasia Traditional Hotel)

It has many positives. Mainly that it is located inside the castle walls so you are in the heart of the historic town. The staff are very friendly. The balcony was lovely and the view from it was very nice. And the wifi has high speed internet which was not expected at all. On the other hand the room was very small and not at best condition. It was not lacking anything major but it was just not the most comfortable, and the double bed was small and not very comfortable. Breakfast was also limited. The hotel is at the complete end of the main street of the castle town which is not a bad thing at all but if you have luggage the rocky street would be very tiring so you might need a porter. All over all it was very well matched with what we paid and what we needed in our first trip to Monemvasia. So it was a balanced good experience.

One of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed. This traditional old home has been renovated in an authentic yet modern way. It is a spacious and comfortable room (great beds, great AC) in the heart of the walled town. Wonderful shared balcony. Next door to a amazing spot to have drinks and watch the sunset. Breakfast was authentic and delicious. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Our room smelled mouldy on entry. It was smelly and dirty. We found sweat marks on cushions, scaled up drain covers, mouldy shower, dirty rugs and floor, rusted old furniture on patio, broken furniture in room, dirty cooking area bench…… Access was down an old stone stairway with dirty water running down it which made it slippery. We complained but staff were totally uninterested. We only stayed for two nights out of four booked even though there was no refund or any acknowledgment of any kind.

We loved the location of the Monemvasia Traditional Hotel, as it was nearly at the end of the cobblestone street, therefore out of the way of the touristy parts of the town, and quiet. We walked our luggage to just inside the Castle wall, where the hotel has an office, and from there, a porter escorted us to the room, assisting us with our luggage. The room itself felt a little worn, but the views from the private balcony were truly spectacular. Sadly, we had to keep windows and the balcony door closed throughout our stay due to the heat. The breakfast buffet was varied and excellent, probably the best of any of the many hotels in which we stayed in Greece.

Beautiful place and amazing staff. I made a mistake in our reservation and we arrived late in the afternoon with our toddler exhausted after a long drive just to realize that our reservation was for the following day. Dora was extremely understanding and found a solution. We moved into room 11 for the second night, which is a beautiful tool and has an amazing balcony. Delicious breakfast.

Living inside this Castle is a great experience. Malvasia Traditional Hotel helped us to fulfill a dream with its wonderful room and staying! The view from its window was like travelling the Myrtoon Sea and the first ligth of day filling the room was unforgettable!

The room was very pleasant, it was cozy, clean and with magnificent view. Breakfast was excellent and incredibly varied. The hotel team has always been friendly, patient and helpful. That impressed me the most. Mrs Elenis’ Greek coffee was delicious

This hotel was spectacular. Keeping in mind that you are in a medieval village, it was absolutely tremendous. We had a room with a balcony that looked over the ocean. Fantastic. The person who met us to check us in was an excellent host and very friendly. Perfect English. We hiked all around the grounds. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The location for seating at breakfast or at the outdoor cocktail patio was wonderful. We loved it! Just know that you have to park and walk into the walled city so don’t bring a roller suitcase if possible!. The views and weather were perfect. We enjoyed the restaurants and wine and the lovely small teeny area to swim off the rocks. Sunrise was gorgeous. Peaceful, quiet and a huge joy!
