"The hotel, although it has a beautiful exterior, with architecture that certainly leaves many people open-mouthed and an excellent location next to the famous Monchique waters with some very interesting fountains to visit nearby and a pleasant breakfast, is not at the level of a 4-star hotel. Firstly, the access cards did not work several times, even after they were supposedly fixed. Its restaurant “1692” had satisfactory food, a daily menu with few options, and while its prices are disproportionate to what is offered, for €25/person you can eat local food of better quality, with many more options and of greater proportions, five minutes or less by car from the hotel. Regarding the rooms, the cleaning of the rooms was terrible, only the bed was made, they didn't refill the shampoo bottles that were already empty, the towels weren't changed and in general it was barely noticeable that anyone had even been there to clean. And besides this, the rooms in the suites for some reason were of a much lower quality than the rooms in the central garden, I realized this because I booked 3 rooms, two in the garden and one suite (because of the pet), and this one revealed an old-fashioned interior, smell of tobacco and stains all over the room. Finally, the thermal spa was very nice and I recommend it."
