VIE Via - Your Hotel

Heel mooi hotel, fijne plek. Het hotel is echt mooi, heel handig dat je met je telefoon overal naar binnen kan. Er is een winkeltje in het hotel met ontbijt, maar ook eten, drinken en snacks waar je 24/7 terecht kan. Echt heel fijn. Mooie kamers, mooi interieur. Helaas is het hotel wel erg gehorig. Alle algemene deuren hoorde je hard dichtklappen en ook de deur van de buren. Wij hadden denk ik pech met de locatie van onze kamer, dus hoorden we zowel de algemene gangdeur van de verdieping, maar ook die van beneden en de deur naar de binnenplaats. En dan heb je pas in de gaten hoe veel mensen laat nog binnen komen.. Verder echt een super verblijf en niets te klagen, maar wij zijn de halve nacht wakker geweest/geworden door de deuren en het geluidsoverlast. Nogmaals; misschien hebben wij het niet getroffen met de kamer (kamer 152) en verder is het hotel echt top en een aanrader!

Looks nice, but very disappointed - we had a sleepless night because "outside the season" the airco is not working. The room was very hot and stuffy after a full week of summer days and hardly any ventilation! After a complaint, two small locked windows were unlocked. This didn't help much, and in the middle of the night there was a lot of noise from the adjoining student housing so we had to close them.

Wonderful, spacious room with the fluffiest pillows and duvet. I also loved the bathroom and the water pressure! I'm personally not a fan of the 'just a room' concept, simply b/c I love interacting with staff when coming and going and for me is part of traveling, but I can absolutely see why this is appealing to independent travelers. I didn't even know about this aspect b/c I had called the Post Plaza Hotel to get a wheelchair accessible room there, but b/c that was already booked for my date, they offered the one at the Vie Via next door and I said let's do it! I'll just see what it's about when I get there ;). Wonderful staff though. I'd been instructed to call upon arrival as I wasn't able to use the entrance stairs of course and needed to use the back door, which is closed off by a gate. I was welcomed by Zeki who was very kind and pleasant to interact with. I also received an additional button for my phone to be able to open the gate myself, but he made sure I was welcome to contact them whenever I needed anything, anytime. Even though it's not my preferred style (the Post Plaza is :D), I do think it was designed very well and I loved my room and stay at the Vie Via that is in a beautiful street and great location.

We stayed in Leeuwarden and as all hotels were very expensive or out of city center, we found Via Via hotel, a newly build hotel with spacious lobby and friendly host. The design is modern and inviting. The lobby also has a shop with all essentials you can think of and small kitchen, in the basement there are lockers in which we could store our luggage for the day (24h, 7.5EUR). The room itself is rather small, but we didn't need anything more, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious and everything was thought-through and had fun design elements. Bed slept excellent and price/quality there's nothing you can say about it. Would definitely recommend! (And also visit the bar of Post Plaza, probably the most beautiful bar in Leeuwarden).

Very low level of service, indeed... 'just a room' and nothing else. Pricewise not more attractive and the parking advice was not useful. And to state that they have no inkling of international cultural sensitivity... The toilet (bathroom) literally has a display with lights that says: Get Shi... Done. Very interesting and very offensive.
