르 샤또 레알(Le Château Réal)

Six of us stayed here for 3 days in May. What a great experience! Kelly was the consummate hostess. She arranged restaurant reservations, recommended wineries for us to visit. We really could not have asked for a better hostess. The propery is so lovely. Make sure to read the book about the renovation - such a labor of love! Breakfast every day was delicious - those croissants! The coffee! The fresh squeezed juice! One evening, after a long day of wine tasting, Kelly made us some charcuterie boards. They were delicious and she was able to accomodate the vegetarian which we really appreciated. Each of us loved our rooms. One couple stayed in the "Mister Real Suite" which was so lovely and had a great view of the vineyards. But, there were a lot of stairs to this room which was not necessarily a problem unless you have an issue with stairs (once you enter the room, there is a flight of stairs to get to the actual room and then a couple of stairs to get to the bedroom area). Each of us would love to stay here again!

5 Star and down to earth chateaux that feels like home. Nestled on the edge of a charming walkable village and amongst vineyards and beautiful skies. Relaxing, quiet, and the best care from the owners Kelly & Elian! They have transformed the old chateuax into an enchanting reprise inside the house and the beautiful gardens surrounding a zen pool💟. We stayed for a few nights and toured the area with our young son and always looked forward to returning to the chateaux. Fabulous breakfast too! Everything perfect. Would return in a heartbeat. Lovely quiet place. Nice restaurant nearby or drive to pauillac 10 minutes. Owners on site and very helpful. Lovely pool. Free parking across street. Also alcohol available for purchase. Town is small.

We stayed in a beautiful spacious corner room, enjoyed the great mixture of original and renovated interior and the most inviting garden-area with pool, deckchairs and nature intertwined. Jogging between the vines in early morning with scheduled breakfast afterwards made our day. Highly recommended

Lovely stay at Chateau Real. A small property run by a young couple. Our group was well taken care of. The building is historic but the interior was recently renovated. Rooms are large and well appointed, and the pool area is lovely. The location is fantastic, as you are right in the middle of the vineyards of the Haut Médoc with easy access to St Estephe by bike (which the hotel offers for rental). Highly recommend as play to stay to visit vineyards, or just relax.

We enjoyed our visit very much! Great dinner recommendations. Large room, clean with a comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful. Next to a vineyard and we were able to watch them pick the grapes! We would stay again! Good location, close to many wineries.

This is a spectacular stopover in the wine region. Kelly and Elian have transformed their maison into a well-appointed, idyllic place to stay. The pool is fabulous. Their hospitality is wonderful. Breakfast is excellent and guests can order charcuterie and wine if they want to stay in in the evening. Kelly is happy to help with restaurant recommendations. Wish we had had more time.

Our three night stay at Le Chateau Real was absolutely perfect. Elian & Kelly were the consummate hosts and their chateau is divine. It is even better than the photos! The renovation is meticulous with all the mod cons whilst still retaining the old charm. Our room (M.Real) was on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the vineyards & church spire. We woke to the sounds of bells tolling and birdsong. Delicious breakfast, super comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom & bath robes, a divine swimming pool with lounges. Perfectly situated to explore the Medoc. We recommend day tripping to the beaches at Pin Sec and Saulac sur Mer. And definitely book to eat at L’Instant de Saint-Seurin (5 mins walk) and Cafe Lavinal (Pauillac). You will not be disappointed!
