My husband and I visited this hotel in 2018 when (as I recall) it was officially five-star. We left with mixed feelings, and he wasn’t keen to return. So I came alone this year, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. My sense is that the hotel now knows exactly what it is and has relaxed into catering for its clientele. I come to Mayrhofen to hike all day every day, so the three most important qualities in a hotel are food, sleep quality and the general warmth of the staff. If there is a decent swimming pool - and there is here - so much the better. I remember the Elizabeth’s food being consistently superb in 2018, and this year it was even better (a new chef and supporting team, I was told). Every dinner menu was inventive, with beautifully presented dishes which tasted wonderful. Moreover the restaurant experience was much, much better. In 2018 we found the superintending waitress quite controlling (in particular, not willing to pour our wine as fast as we wanted to drink it!). This year, although individual wine bottles were still (irritatingly) held centrally rather than left at guest tables, the wine waiter was responsive to guest wishes. And the wine was excellent and sensibly priced. As to sleep, I was allocated a spacious room - it must have been double, rather than the single I was expecting - which could not have been more comfortable, well laid out or quiet. I slept extremely well. And finally the hotel staff were just lovely. I think there may have been more staff than in 2018, so everything felt more relaxed. The Reception team were particularly helpful when I realised that my digital public transport pass (paid for and downloaded in the U.K.) was actually not going to work reliably in the mountains. We managed to convert it into a paper pass which functioned just fine. As an aside, the Zillertal Activcards (covering local cable cars, buses and trains), which we have bought in every previous visit to Mayrhofen, are now eyewateringly expensive. I saved a lot of money by buying the weekly travel passes and then paying for individual cable car ascents. So overall, I found this a wonderful hotel, very welcoming to me as a solo traveller, and I have now booked again for summer 2026.

The hotel, staff, facilities were excellent. The breakfast, afternoon buffet and evening meals were delicious. We will definitely come back to this fabulous hotel. Location perfect for bus services and cable cars.

The Elizabeth Hotel is a class act. Fabulous public areas and spa facilities; the access to the garden and swimming lake at the Hotel Neuhaus is an added bonus. Our rooms (307 & 308) were well-appointed, complete with spacious balconies and stunning views down the Ziller Valley. The bathroom in 307 (a double room) was particularly spacious. The food was beautifully cooked and presented - excellent choice at breakfast and five courses for each evening meal. All staff were friendly and clearly keen to ensure great service. Mayrhofen is a great base for a week's exploration of the side valleys and beyond. Don't miss a trip to the Stilluptal!

Fantastic hotel. Staff were warm and friendly. Rooms beautiful. The food was amazing, and waiters really good. The pool and spa facilities excellent. The icing on the cake were the guided walks with Otto, these were brilliant and his knowledge and expertise second to none. Will definitely return.

We spent a week at Elisabeth Hotel as part of an Inghams holiday and what a week it was. Comfortable room, excellent food and pleasant helpful staff. A beautiful peaceful place to stay and surrounded by lovely walking.

What a marvellous hotel, attentive staff, great food, excellent room with a very wide bed. Swimming pools warm and good sizes. This hotel is adults only.
