Amazingly beautiful place, spacious room (Vincent), nice view, comfortable bed. Cosy living room and dining space, free cherry liquer and water. Breakfast and service perfect. Good location in the Alfama, close to everything, but not crowded with tourists. We will miss this place.

Casa dell'Arte Club was a beautiful Hotel in a great location. Unfortunately, our room was incredibly noisy late into the night and early into the morning. When staying in a city hotel, I always anticipate noise but this exceeded what I would consider to be the norm. Upon checking, the owner said something along the lines of "don't worry above the family above" and I wasn't sure what she meant until it was 2am and the noise kept us awake. I will mention that the owners did work with us after bringing it to their attention. I don't know if other rooms would be quieter but it is worth considering which room you're booking. I hate to share anything negative but I depend on reviews heavily to make sure I'm booking a hotel that meets my needs. I was so excited to stay at Casa dell'Arte Club based on the reviews and was shocked no one mentioned the level of noise.

Staying here is like staying in a beautiful manor, not a hotel . The building is beautiful inside and out, with all of the original tile work . Chandeliers, antiques, and artwork enhance the interior . The sitting room is stunning ! The service was wonderful. The first morning breakfast was served on the terrace and the second morning in the dining room . The food was delicious! Convenient location in the Alfama district . The adjoining restaurant, Listambul serves up Mediterranean dishes that are incredible. Try the Icle Kofte followed by the Milk Helva for dessert. The service here too was wonderful

I just returned from five days at the Casa dell'Arte and I loved every minute of my stay. The staff were perfect. Their absence when you don't need them make you feel like you have the whole little palace to yourselves; but when you do need them they are super helpful and make a great breakfast. I highly recommend staying in the Alfama neighborhood. It is much more interesting and artistic than central Lisbon, and still a short walk, tram or Uber to the center. Also there is a fabulous little market directly in front of the Casa dell'Arte on Saturdays and Tuesdays. A lovely thing to wake up to. Last point: the house has blazing fast wifi; it is a great place to work from "home" and anyway it feels like home as soon as you arrive.

The ride to the Casa dell'Arte from Lisbon airport, which passes through some of the sketchiest areas of the city (and that's saying something) can be dispiriting. But once through the doors of this former mansion, the atmosphere is simply gobsmacking: dazzling displays of classic blue-on-white Portuguese tile adorn the public areas, while the rooms approach a kind of classical grandeur. It isn't perfect: bathroom spaces can be tricky, and communication poses a problem for non-Portuguese speakers. One big drawback: the lack of an in-house lunch and dinner restaurant, hopefully to be corrected in the spring of 2023; for those who find the "traditional" breakfast unsatisfying, there are a number of excellent cafes a block away. Still, this private hotel makes up in ambience and friendliness what it may lack in certain amenities. Make sure to book an off-street room, though, as the plaza outside plays host to the city's most storied flea market two days a week.
