"We just finished a week stay with my pregnant wife and 2.5 year old daughter. As with any holiday with a toddler there are inevitably ups and downs and the EGV team couldn’t have been more considerate, helpful and caring. The chef made delicious off menu pasta and omelettes for our daughter and Athina was incredibly sweet and sensitive at the kids club, doing painting and Easter crafts. George made superb cocktails and mocktails for us and some fresh strawberries for our daughter and Constantinos and the restaurant team couldn’t have been more supportive. Maria and the front desk team were lovely and had lots of very helpful advice and we didn’t have any of the additional charges that other guests have spoken of with the previous management. The lovely warm pool with our room was at no extra charge and the views from it were spectacular. I’d also recommend the beautiful trail walk around the opposite peninsula - Spinalogkas. It’s totally unspoiled and has such a magical feel to it. We had a great trip and would come back again."

"From the moment we arrived, (late at night !) to the moment we left, we were made to feel welcome and at home. We has an apartment on the second floor with a view over the sea which was gorgeous. The apartment itself was simple but incredibly clean and well equipped, with the cleaners coming daily. Nikos is a wonderful host, and was always happy to give us recommendations and advice. The apartments are a lovely 5 minute walk into the town which is full of great cafes and restaurants, and a 5 minute drive to Kolakitha Beach - a beautiful gem of a beach (although not on a Sunday when all the locals go and it becomes very crowded.) The bar in the hotel is calm and tranquil and all the staff go out of their way to look after you. We were only there for a week, but I would happily return and really hope that we will. "

"This was one of the best hotel experiences of my life, and I've been working in the hospitality industry for years. The location is fabulous, and the upgrade to a higher room category was a pleasant surprise. The staff was wonderful, everyone, actually, but Mrs. Maria from the bar on the 5th floor deserves a special mention – she was very classy, had a smile, and was unobtrusive in her hospitality. We should have listened to her, because the delicious club sandwich we ordered for lunch was actually enough for two! Valet parking included in the price is an absolute rarity, and that also pleasantly surprised me. We will definitely be back."

"We stayed at Ikaros 3 from end June to early July 2024, for 8 days. The2 rooms apartment, recently renovated, is very nice , clean and comfortable. The location is excellent, nearby the beach with a nice sea view, and very close to the village and the port. Nota, the owner, and her daughter Delphina are very kind and hospitable. All was perfect."

"This year has been my 4th year here and it's like coming home. The hotel has a friendly, family atmosphere and is in a quiet place where you can relax and not listen to discos until the morning. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean and the view is wonderful. The food was fantastic, we always knew what to choose. The pool bar was our favorite place where, apart from the beach, we probably spent the most time meeting new people and talking with our friends from the hotel. Of course, the drinks were not to be missed, they are really at the level. The staff here are very friendly and always knew how to give us tips on where to go and what to see. The beach is pebbly, but it didn't bother us, since the wind is common in Crete, and this way at least we didn't have sand everywhere. Can't wait to be here next year. "

"I have been staying at the hotel for the past 6 years, and in the last two years, its standards have shown a slight decline. The rooms are a good size and are decently furnished. Most guests stay only for a few days so 6 coat hangers would not be an issue but for a 2 week holiday, there isn't a great deal of storage space. The fridge is useful as is the kettle. Although the bathroom is adequate, the shower tends to overflow onto the bathroom floor like in many Greek hotels. There is a blind to pull down but this meant that it was very difficult to manoeuvre in the shower. There was plenty of storage place for the toiletries. Breakfast is the same every day and is basic. Orange juice is post mix from the machine. It often needed topping up with water as it was too strong. There were frequent empty spaces on the breakfast trays which meant either waiting for them to refilled or choosing from a restricted range. In a country of lots of fresh fruit, the only fruit options were tinned peaches or fresh apples. The hotel is clean but the room cleaning isn't daily as it has been in the past. Small details are overlooked at times. There was only 1 cup for a 2-person room, twice the much-needed bath mat wasn't replaced when the wet one was taken away, several days the bins weren't emptied, one day we had a couple of towels short. All minor but they added up over 14 nights. The staff are fantastic especially Monique on reception. Reception seemed to be manned less than previously. As I know the area/hotel, it wasn't a problem. There seem to have been some cost-cutting measures that have impacted negatively on customer service."

We met the manager Ervis, who did everything to provide excellent service. We were also lucky enough to meet Christopher a great administrator there, He was very polite and a true gentleman. We will definitely be back. We recommend it without a doubt!"

"Candia park village has always been my favourite place, it's beautiful and feel relaxed this was my 7th time going and some things have changed over the years, the rooms are lovely and have had new bathrooms fitted, I was in room 951 which was at the very top so was a bit of a trek getting up to the room but it had a perfect view and was so quiet up there so was lovely, the 2 cleaners that did our room were lovely, they always greated us with a smile, said hello and did a lovely clean, the pool is great although I thought it was abit late opening at 10am as some people like a early swim, the people in reception were always happy to help book you a taxi or deal with any questions you had , there is a shop which sells milk water chocolate etc, there was a lot of younger children there so seems to have gone more of family's going so did slightly feel out of place I think we were the only ones without kids so it would be great if more couples went to bring a bit of night time enjoyment back as everyone seem to disappear after there evening meal. if you want a peaceful pint then it's perfect, the poolbar is open late so it's lovely sitting looking out to sea with a nightime drink listening to the waves, vicky and doxa at the bars are amazing cheerful and friendly and make your time there enjoyable, they are lovely ladies and I have never met nicer people, the beach is so beautiful and so easy getting in the sea for a swim as they have taken away all the big borders you used to nearly break your toes and ankles on lol so that's a great changed they have made, there is also water sports there jet skis donoughts etc and are great to watch people having fun on them , the bus transfer was not the best as it took 2 hours 20 mins to get from the airport, I've no idea why it took that long as usually you get there in about 1 hour and because it took so long we didn't arrive until about 1am so reception had some lovely sandwiches for us that had been made earlier which was a lovely surprise and they were so tasty too."
