Playitas Hotel - Sports Resort

Playitas is really a great resort for families looking to just get away and swim in the pool or for those looking to take a holiday and train at the gyms here or as a part of the activities. The staff are all incredibly nice. Fuerteventura itself is somewhat of a barren rock but for me it was quite interesting as a contrast to the Swedish landscape. Playitas is also situated badly I'd you are interested in exploring the rest of the island. Taxi trips quickly stack up and get expensive. The restaurants in the small village besides Playitas have closed to (accommodate the resort I presume). The room we got was terrific and looking around it doesn't look like Ike any of the rooms would be bad. The sea gets deep quickly and isn't a great to swim in. I traveled here with my 6 year old son and he loved the multiple pools and the water-slide. If I were to come back I'd like to do it with the idea of using the gym facilities and training for a week or two.

This place is gorgeous in May. Just before highseason but sunny and warm, not too windy. The resort is everything I wished for, my room with kitchenette and rainshower was super comfortable. The sport facilities and sessions are awesome. The personnel super friendly. The nature is beautiful and as I love to trailrun and swim I could do this all week without it feeling overcrowded. I will definitely go again! This week has done me so well.

Didn’t really know what to expect but it was great. Sure, I took the best accommodation ( a suite) and was given room 7406, at the very top. ( fortunately, there is an electric car constantly running people up to the heights!). The room had divine views over golf course/hills AND, from a different window, a great view of beach and sea. Divine! The buffet restaurant does a great, healthy breakfast and the three course buffet dinner is good value and there is a good choice. Activities abound with plenty of classes bookable 2 days ahead. Great place for up to a week. Home for a rest!!

I have stayed at the resort many times.I just love the whole experience.The food I believe is exceptional.A wide,healthy choice to please all tastes.Apartments,hotel and villas are all excellent and the staff are very friendly.My brother is Andrew Mccorquodale,like me a proud Scotsman, who has worked at Las Playitas for many years now. We had great fun taking part in his fabulous aqua show.Amazing.It is a beautiful island and I believe nearby Gran Tarajal and the area of Las Playitas represent the very best it has to offer.Authentic and classy,its a world away from the more commercial resorts on the island.In summary,its the best week of our year, every year.

I went to this hotel in a large group for a fitness and party week. On arrival we were greeted at reception and I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. My OH and I were fortunate to have a room ready despite arriving before the official check in time. We were on the 3rd floor of block one and the room was lovely with a view of the sea and most of the resort. Pros Large but peaceful. Good views Fitness classes, Large gym, paddel and badminton courts, golf plus much more. Kids play area Lots to choose from at the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Healthy or non-healthy, its your choice. Cons The lift kept breaking down The food was lukewarm. Even when we turned up for dinner as soon as the doors opened. Some of the equipment (barbells for body pump, kettlebells) needs replacing. I had to request that our sheets be changed rather than it being done automatically after a few days Despite the cons, I would definitely return. The area around the apart hotel was livelier and there was a good choice of food and drinks to purchase at the cafe bar there. The sangria tasted better there too!

Firstly the hotel rooms are on a hill. The “inclinator” to get to them is broken…to be mended soon but it’s been broken for over 9 months. There are 144 stairs and hills in between to get to blocks 6&7. It’s a challenge. The resort answer is a shuttle which takes you up,if you’re lucky &it’s not busy but never available to bring you down. Anyone with a mobility issue will be stranded. Rooms refurbished, meaning sofas removed & replaced with plastic chairs so nowhere to sit or relax. Rooms are basic & bed’s uncomfortable Resort looking shabby, the hotel pool has black mould everywhere which is jet washed into the water regularly. Gym equipment very old especially WOD box. No water available in gyms, so have to buy in on site over priced shop. Restaurant used to be great but Food choices drastically reduced and not as healthy as expected. Staff fantastic! Bar staff, restaurant staff and room staff all awesome…. But the hotel manager is absolutely appalling. Rude beyond description, like a smiling assassin and seen to be aggressive to anyone asking for basic help. How this woman was promoted from aparthotel manager is incomprehensible. Serious customer care training is required. Do not recommend… stay elsewhere

Our 2nd trip to Playitas Resort and definitely not the last time. All expectations were undoubtedly met. The hotel was absolutely top notch and the staff were as always very sweet and hospitable. The large breakfast buffet was worth getting up for every morning. The pool at the hotel was lovely, sun loungers for everyone and pool towels for a deposit. Various sports activities for children and adults. We have stayed in aparthotel and hotel. Next time villa with pool😁

Our second visit to Playitas resort. And this one even better than the first one, which hardly seemed possible! Great place! Sublime hospitality and service, proud staff who never failed an opportunity for a smile whilst working tirelessly ensuring our stay was a fantastic experience. Food and drinks top class, breakfast to die for and facilities offering the one thing that Playitas does so well: Great relaxing vacation under the Palms with the unique possibility to participate in almost any sport imaginable. For all levels. Our daughter of 11 years had the most fantastic time as well, participating, competing, swimming, and generally having the time of her life. Btw. The WiFi is fantastic as well. We will definitely be back!

I am a regular visitor to Las Playitas because it's a great place to pursue a variety of sports activities in one well-kept location. Although there are ample locations to simply relax at Playitas, there are cheaper resorts on Fuerteventura if all you want to do is relax and sunbathe. One thing I would recommend is to really explore the resort. It was only this year that I discovered Playitas had its own Scuba Diving Centre (run by Deep Blue Diving). This is really well run and a great place for beginners and experienced divers alike. I'm not sure why Playitas don't promote it more. In summary, a great place for an active holiday.
