This is an amazing hotel , we adored the place ! As mentioned by other reviewers , it is a little piece of paradise from the moment you walk through the doors . The staff are fantastic and really go out of their way to help with anything you need . The suites are beautiful , the Veranda restaurant was really fabulous . A very special mention for Marco - he is a really wonderful host and so much so that we ended up staying here for five nights instead of two that we planned . The location has stunning views , the pools and sun loungers are delightful and the breeze on the mountain top made it a perfect respite from the heatwave . You couldn’t pick a better place to stay ! This is a top class hotel with a great atmosphere , great rooms and brilliant staff . We will be back for sure and we certainly didn’t want to leave ! Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so special and well done 👏

Truly 5 star resort that will leave you rested and pampered. We didn’t know what to expect from European 5 star but this place is definitely 5 star, service is top notch, the property is very clean and nice. Views will take your breath away. We want to thank everyone who was involved in creating this beautiful resort and keeping such high standards now. We will be back!

Our stay at the beautiful San Montano was flawless! The resort and grounds are absolutely stunning. The staff was attentive and gracious. Without a doubt the most exceptional place we have ever been! Visiting the island and staying at the San Montano has raised the bar for us in terms of luxury travel.

The food is absolutely amazing. I cannot express this enough. My husband wants me to mention the mimosas and plate o mixed meats was his fav. The thermal pools were interesting, warmer than I prefer a pool but I truly believe there is a therapeutic effect as I have a bad back and didn’t have any of my normal daily discomfort the whole time I was there. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The beds are also very comfortable. We are already saying we would go to just Ischia / San Montano for our next Italy vacation.

Plus, their evening transportation to the town of Lacco Ameno is a bonus we always look forward to. And who can forget the serene San Montano beach? The hotel's access and transportation to this beautiful beach further elevates the entire vacation. The restaurants at San Montano are simply top-tier, and there's a special corner of our hearts reserved for Franco's pizza. Authentic, flavorsome, and utterly unforgettable! However, what truly sets the San Montano experience apart for us is the warmth of its staff. The heart of this establishment beats through people like Marco, Vincenzo, and the countless others whose names we wish we could remember. From the moment we set foot in the hotel, the welcome we receive feels genuine and heartwarming. Vincenzo, with his impeccable taste, never misses with his restaurant recommendations. Every member, from the shuttle drivers to the pool attendants, goes the extra mile to ensure our stay is not just comfortable but memorable. It's a sentiment hard to put into words, but each visit feels like a reunion. The staff at San Montano isn't just hotel personnel to us; they've become an extended family that resides in Ischia. For all these reasons and countless more memories we've built over the years, San Montano remains our cherished home away from home. This hotel promises an experience you'll treasure for a lifetime.

I don’t even know what to say, this place is was sooo incredible! From the moment the shuttle arrived to take our bags after a long day of travel, we felt different being here on this wonderful island at the most beautiful resort. The welcome drink of their lemonade squeezed in house from their orchards was a delightful touch. Our room wasn’t ready, (we arrived very early) so they kept our bags and gave us a tour of the property, and had us hang at the healing thermal pools until our room was ready. There is pool service and we ordered beer and gelato. But aside from the beauty, what really set this place apart was the attitudes of the staff. They were consistently accommodating and seemed as if they really invested in your experience. We encountered dozens of employees and they were all the same. We felt very pampered. They made a dinner reservation for us as we checked in and recommended arriving before sunset for a drink on the patio. The sunset was stunning, and everyone came out to watch it go down. The hotel itself is somehow perched on the top of a mountain so there at panoramic views of the ocean and vegetation from everywhere on the resort. The beauty was all around us. We couldn’t stop looking at taking pictures. We had to physically force ourselves to leave this amazing property and almost missed our ferry out! Free shuttle to the beach, where free beach service is included. The beach has a small bar and sandwich/snack shop. Free shuttle to town. Both take 3 minutes to get to. The restaurant is stunning with floor to ceiling sliding glass windows, offering panoramic views of the towns lit up at night. We sadly didn’t have enough time to visit the spa for a massage, but wished we could have! Just stay here!!

This hotel was absolutely amazing and in my top 5 list of all hotels. The staff (Especially Francesco) were amazing. Luckily upgraded to a private suite and it had its own pool and access to the chefs garden. The pools were amazing and so was the access to the private beach. True relaxation and luxury.

We really had a wonderful experience, fabulous view and facilities, service and staff were all very nice and first class, restaurant and food fantastic, and special thanks to Vincenzo and his team for helping us organise our stay, arrival and departure so effortlessly despite all the weather uncertainties - and always with a lovely smile :)

The hotel arranges for transportation, which I highly recommend from the airport in Napoli to the port and back. Their complimentary Mercedes shuttle is an added bonus for hotel guests, driving to the beach and to the quaint town of Lacco Ameno. I recommend a room with a sea view as the views are simply breathtaking. Breakfast and lunches are wonderful too...and the wait staff are warm and gracious. Exceptional service goes such a long way in hospitality and SM has truly mastered it! We will definitely return here again and highly recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a hidden gem that provides luxury service in the most spectacular setting.
