에인션트 호텔 아사마 가루이자와(Ancient Hotel Asama Karuizawa)

Wonderful experience! In spite of we didn’t have the meal in hotel but we still very enjoy to stay inside. There is no TV in the room but the guest can rent vinyl record player and enjoy the beer for free! Hospitality service, unique room, all the atmosphere was really great! VERY ELEGANT!

The staff was amazing and were very attentive for every single moment! We are junior consultants who were invited to stay at Ancient Hotel by our gracious host and their recommendation was perfect! I started in the Amber room which was the exact traditional yet contemporary Japanese experience I’ve always wanted. The meals (dinner and breakfast) was incredible! I wish I had more time to explore, but the staff ensured we got as much in as possible. I e got to view the stars with the kind gentleman who knows about astronomy, we got to celebrate our fellow junior consultants birthday at Ancient Hotel, and of course got to enjoy the onsen! The cozy atmosphere was the perfect time to get to know our clients better as well as socialize in a familiar and comforting manner. I hope to return soon and enjoy more of the outdoors and everything Ancient Hotel has to offer in the future.

This is an extraordinary place that exceeded our expectations. The staff could not have done more to make our stay memorable. We would especially like to thank Shizuoka who went out of her way to explain the amazing supper and could not have been kinder. I would suggest contacting the hotel directly to make a reservation.

Been here in 2018 before covid. It’s been 5 years my family is back in this hotel again. This time , we stayed with my son in Amber room. Room is clean n tidy n soothing with the music on whn we stepped in. Wanna send our greatest thank to Ms Shizuka, a young jap lady manager, to make us feel so much at home. Even at meal, she patiently explained all ingredients that made up the courses. She speaks very gd English n helpful too. Thanks Ms Shizuka with love.

Fantastic Japanese hospitality from the moment we arrived. The hotel is nestled in a picturesque location and the interior decor corresponds to the local aesthetic in a very tasteful way, allowing you feel the real Kurizawa! Throughout our stay we wanted for nothing and the staff were so kind and helpful with their explanations - especially the restaurant ones who went out of their way to help us understand each dish. Would definitely revisit again in a heartbeat and look forward to my next escape from Tokyo there!

We wanted to do something special for the anniversary of my partner so decided to stay in Karuizawa at Ancient Hotel, which was a great choice. The establishment has its unique style of decoration, and every room its own architecture, making for a true romantic gateaway. The staff was incredibly helpful and the dinner course delicious. We both look forward t our next trip there.

I've had the pleasure of staying here a few times and each stay is as magnificent as the last with beautiful rooms as well as the kindest staff. Ancient Hotel, located in the about 15min from the station and surrounded by greenery, is a peaceful getaway from the bustling city. Upon arrival, the staff greets you with the biggest smiles and shows you to your room. The hospitality is impeccable where the staff would remember your name and provide the up most services. The rooms are all each individually uniquely designed and feels very homey with special touches like the music player. Outside your window is lush greenery where you can hear the birds chirping. The dinner is incredible with amazing dishes made of quality seasonal ingredients, crafted with immaculate attention to detail. For breakfast we chose to eat outside in the terrace enjoying the peaceful nature sounds. Highly recommended for the place to say in Karuizawa.

まず、入り口でいい香りが漂っている。 香りと笑顔のお出迎え。 そして、部屋。 清潔感があり、まさかのお茶室の佇まい。 自分で挽いて自分で点てていただける。 本当にゆったりとした時間を過ごせます。 お風呂も適温。清潔。 アメニティのTHANNの香りも最高。 タオルが大きく気持ち良い。 露天風呂では狐にも会えました。 お食事。 いつ行っても驚かされます。 何を食べても美味しい。 ぜひ食と向き合って楽しんでいただきたいと思います。 量も食べ進める中で御調節していただいたり、気がつくとお水が置かれていたり、細やかなおもてなしが素晴らしいです。

宿の部屋もとても素敵でしたし、宿の方々の接客など全てが今まで泊まったホテルの中で1番素晴らしかったです。また泊まりたいと心から思った宿は初めてでした。 孔雀石の間に宿泊したのですが、お部屋に茶臼やお茶立具などがあり、前からやってみたいと思っていたお茶立てをすることができました。 また、ビールやお水、炭酸水が飲み放題というのに関してとてもテンションが上がりました…！工事中とのことでしたが騒音などは一切なくとても快適に過ごせました。
