I have lived here for how many months? honestly the management Has a wrong way of treating their guest long stay or not.. I mean I was paying 650 everyday and never once did they remember to send a cleaner..don’t pay up by 10:41am and then cleaner comes after 10days and she isn’t supposed to clean?! For a place I have stayed at the same apartments for 4months?

Stayed two nights on a mother-daughter trip and had a great time. The location is excellent, in a nice gated area so felt safe walking around and there were tons of nice restaurants and shops around! The room was clean. Kinda weird with the shower outside the bathroom right next to one of our beds, only had a curtain to separate. The staff was all very helpful and friendly! The food was good- be sure to try the milkshakes!

This hotel inexplicably made a mistake on our 5 night pre-booked PRE-PAID stay. Security turns up on the door middle of the night demanding to know why we are in the room and trying to get us to leave when our checkout was the next morning. No apology, claimed a ”system glitch” changed our booking (that's actually NOT how the system works), no correction to the booking. Created a new reservation in my name without my permission to try to cover their mistake. 2 weeks later they still haven't sent a correct invoice despite multiple emails. Oh, and they keep mis-gendering me as Mr despite knowing I'm female and being reminded of this. One of the pillows was dirty and it took multiple asks before the sheets were changed and a clean pillow provided. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. Very nice hotel with comfortable and convenient flats with balcony but unfortunately the standard rooms are small and not enough space in their bathroom to put personal toileteries Some of the employees using their personal phone too much in front of customers I would like to congratulate the restaurant manager SERGIO who is always full of good energy. The housekeeper RACHEL is such a sweet lady with a very nice smile and last but not least, the very professional guest relation representative ZANO who definitely made my stay more enjoyable.
