Upon arrival make sure to avoid the concierge. They will attempt to upsell you on plenty of things you do not need like a $175 a day 10X10 pop up by the pool that they try and call a cabana.
The food at the resort is VERY good but also VERY expensive. The breakfast buffet is $34 each and there is no where else to sit and eat in the morning without leaving.
Remember to pack a tumbler and make your own drinks. Drinks range from $12-$18
The resort is pretty far from old San Juan 45/55 minutes.
The rooms are completely neglected. The mattress didn’t even have a fitted sheet. There was no mattress cover, and the mattress itself was absolutely disgusting.
They don’t have a cleaning crew at night for the pool and hot tub area and you can’t use them after 10PM. You can’t even use the lounge chairs in the area.
A lot of the staff were fun and did their best to make sure you felt comfortable and were enjoying your time. There are no managers overseeing the day to day. Some staff would sit on their phone and be annoyed to make you another drink at the swim up bar.
The beach was great, the pools seemed clean enough. The area around the pools needed attention the entire weekend. No attempt was made to clean. We found a really fun jet-ski tour on the beach which was so much fun and worth the $140. Make sure to look for the tour and not just the rental.
This place was definitely not worth what we paid for it. The food was the only good part and it is as I said very expensive.
