Green Grass Hotel & Restaurant

I stayed at green grass jaffna recently and had a very disappointing experience. The AC in my room was leaking a huge amount of water directly onto the bag rack—right where my laptop was kept. Thankfully, it still works, but it could’ve been badly damaged. This kind of issue is unacceptable, especially for a hotel at this price point. No guest should have to worry about their belongings getting soaked inside their room. Also the bathrooms are not clean and the property surrounding looks like it haven’t been cleaned for a long time I hope management takes this seriously and fixes it before it affects someone else.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Right from the moment we entered the room, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant smell. The bathrooms were not clean, and there were mosquitoes everywhere, making it hard to relax. There was no lift available, which was highly inconvenient, especially since our group of three families was assigned rooms on different floors. This made coordination very difficult. The worst part, however, was the customer service. The reception staff were extremely rude and unhelpful — probably the worst we’ve encountered in any hotel. Their attitude was unpleasant and unprofessional, which completely ruined the experience for us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or welcoming stay.

Low cost budget hotel. Musty and mosquito infested. Housekeeping is poor, particularly the bathroom. The food in the neighbouring hotel/restaurant (Valampuri) is wonderful. The Hotel does not have a lift, so it's a steep walk up, for Senior Citizens.

Dear friends, janauary 7th to 11th i stayed in the hotel.i am from U.S.A and i born in jaffna.their rooms are dirty and filthy.the bathroom is urine smell.too much dust in the room.also night time a lot of people come to the bar and making too much noice.friday 10th i had vegetetarian lunch at hotel valampuri.the food is horrible.their stair ways are dirty and never clean.customer service are horrible.when rain comes all the stairways are flood.the hotel mangement loves only money but nothing any sincere.my great advice to dont booked this hotel.also tomuch mosquitos and flying insects around the hotel.in front of the hotel there are somany stare dogs.be careful.

Dear Green Grass Hotel Management, It is with sadness I am writing this about your hotel. I came to Jaffna after 40 years and the experience was not great . I stayed for two nights in Room No 107. I tried so many ways to contact the hotel but my issues are still not answered. They never responded to email i sent and also my calls are unanswered. 1: I was wrongly charged for a meal that I never had (Rs 1804.00). Sent many emails and tried to call but no so far response. 2: I had torn towels left in the room-Refer attached photo. When I took the room the towels left was in that condition (TORN). When asked for replacement, i was give two sets of fresh towels but both were in poor condition. I suggest the hotel to change all the towels. 3: Internet was not working in my room. After few complains, they gave a connection to my room via a router (WIFI in the room was not working) 4: There was no power point near the table for the kettle-this is a minor issue.

Worst accommodation and service I have ever experienced. Avoid at all costs. Best described as a complex of slums (an unplanned hotchpotch of old and new buildings without any consideration for their use). Totally untrained staff, often only understanding Tamil, The restaurant it shares with Hotel Valampuri is in a newer building but also badly in need of a refurbishment. Service poor, staff do not welcome, or even speak to customers who do not speak Tamil. We found an empty table and sat down for over twenty minutes, then spoke to a manager who sent us a waiter. Food is tolerable but very spicy. Unless you speak Tamil and tolerate shabby, even unsafe, accommodation, stay away from this complex of slums.
