We hope you will love your stay as much as we do when we can escape to The Lost Cabin at the Creek!THE CABIN This beautiful property is called The Lost Cabin at the Creek because it is an excellent place to disconnect, escape and relax. The creek provides great opportunities for fishing, swimming, exploring, viewing wildlife, and generally enjoying the outdoors. The cabin was constructed in 2013 and provides two bedrooms, a sleeping loft, bathroom with shower, well equipped kitchen, gas log fireplace, screened-in back porch, hot tub, charcoal grill, fire pit, and all the amenities necessary to enjoy your stay. The cabin sleeps 6 people with both bedrooms having queen size beds. The loft is furnished with 2 twin beds.THE PROPERTYThe Lost Cabin sits directly on 600 feet of the banks of Lick Creek, running the entire length of the property. The creek is spring fed and runs year round. On the back of the cabin is a screened-in porch which leads to the outside deck and a 4-person hot tub. All of these areas provide great views of the creek. Next to the back porch is a cooking and entertainment area that includes a charcoal grill with outdoor seating, and a fire pit (wood provided). The outdoor entertainment area gently slopes down to water for easy creek access. The creek has formed a natural swimming and fishing area. The land across the dirt road is a part of Lost Cabin at the Creek property, so please enjoy the amenities there as well. The swimming hole is across the dirt road. Rushing water over the rock formation provides relaxing sounds and another great area to enjoy the creek.AREA ACTIVITIESBlack Springs is located 1-1/2 miles from Norman, AR. There is plenty to see and do while in the area. Lake Ouachita, Lake Hamilton, and Lake Greeson are all within a 30 minute drive; each of which provide great fishing, boating, and water sports. Favorite activities in the area include: Tubing the Caddo River, hiking trails, kayak & canoe rentals, fishing, golf, bird watching, wild life viewing & photography, sailing, horseback riding, digging for diamonds at the Arkansas State Diamond Mine in Murfreesboro, quartz crystals in Mount Ida, and massages at the Hot Springs National Park Spa Houses. All of these opportunities are generally within a 15 to 45 minute drive of the cabin. Another acre slopes down to the bullfrog pond where you can practice your casting skills or just relax and listen to the birds and bullfrogs. Maybe you would prefer chillin' by the firepit or under one of the many shade trees. Inside the 1665 sq. ft. home, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with full size applicances and all the modern kitchenware to whip up your favorite meals. We'll even include a dozen farm fresh eggs in memory of Pearl. Grill utensils and charcoal included for the charcoal grill. The large open floor plan living space includes a sofa and loveseat and features a gas log fireplace and a small gas heater for those chilly mornings. The 2 large bedrooms in the sleeping part of the house becomes a little more secluded with the unique hallway door. The king bedroom has a king-size bed, television. Our bunkroom has two sets of bunkbeds with 4 full sized mattresses, television and DVD/VCR player which can be rolled to other rooms in the house. The bathroom in the sleeping area includes a bathtub/shower while the 2nd bathroom off the mudroom/laundry room has a standup shower. The laundry room consist of full size washer and dryer. So even if you ended up in a rain storm while out floating, biking, hiking or diggin' for crystals, you can duck in the shower straight from the laundry. Additionally, there is a 32' carport which works out great for parking a truck with a trailer or 3 vehicles. And, if the weather is a little damp, it can even be set up for your patio party. No insulation except newspapers. She cooked on a wood stove every day and used an outhouse until they added on an indoor bathroom. She had a garden, chickens and milk cows so all the neighbors came to her for their eggs, produce, milk and butter. When I was thinking about a name for the house, I made the comment that even though it was 1980’s retro, Pearl would have thought it was a palace. There are hiking and biking trails nearby and plenty of fishing and water activities in the Ouachita area.The Lovit trail is just a few miles from the cabin. It heads at beautiful Lake Ouachita and follows the lake for a beautiful hike and is great for mountain biking too! You can launch your boat within minutes at Twin Creeks boat ramp. We have plenty of parking at Bear Den Cub Cabin, along with a place to plug up your boat to charge your batteries! There is a great fishing pier at the launch site along with a place to swim. You can visit one of the crystal mines in the area where you can dig your own crystals and keep whatever you find. Hot Springs is east of the cabin about 30 minutes. Check out Bath House Row down town. If you are in to horse racing, Oaklawn Park is a big attraction in Hot Springs. (Seasonal) If you are wanting solitude, simple stay at the cabin where you can sit around the fire pit after you have grilled on the charcoal grill.
