There are two outdoor tables one that seats 4 and the smaller one 2 with chairs. Parking: There are 2 spots on the steep driveway and two in the garage. The garage can be accessed by the keypad provided out front. There is parking on the street in front of the house. (See pictures.)WI-FIThere is excellent Wi-Fi but no TV, so plan to relax, read or take your coffee out to sit on one of the decks to enjoy the breathtaking views; from there you can see rocky outcroppings, large sea stacks & sandy beaches all along the coast.BEACH ACCESS & BEACH STAIRS DISCAIMERWe're located on a cliff directly above the beach with stair access down the side of the cliff to the beach below. The stairs are maintained and we've never had an injury on them but use of our beach stairs is at your own risk. As an alternative, it is just a two minute drive to beach-level parking on North Harris Beach at Harris Beach State Park.SOUTH HARRIS BEACHSouth Harris Beach, which is one of the best ocean beaches on the Oregon coast, is even closer; it is just a ten minute walk or a one minute drive to get there. And it almost never has people on it. LONE RANCH BEACHLone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.HARBOR BEACHThe driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just 5 minutes south. SECRET BEACHSecret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.WHALE WATCHINGResident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.REDWOOD NATURE TRAILWalking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.WILD RIVERSThe Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. And it almost never has people on it because you have to walk down the side of a cliff on a paved path to get to it, and because very few tourists know about it.LONE RANCH BEACHLone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.HARBOR BEACHThe magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes south.SECRET BEACHSecret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.WHALE WATCHINGResident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.REDWOOD NATURE TRAILWalking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.WILD RIVERSThe Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. Both sit on their own cliffside acre overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean.We did not plan on being vacation rental hosts - it just sort of happened - but we are glad it did because we are always delighted to hosts our guests on these amazing properties.I was recently retired from a job in the medical field and Patrick had sold his real estate office when, in March of 2019, we found the separate coastal property we now live in while we on a road trip through Southern Oregon.The house that is now our home had been on the market 5 years as part of an estate sale & it needed a lot of work, but we loved it the moment we saw it. **We made the best offer we could afford and our offer was accepted! The entirely separate guesthouse that came with it became our first vacation rental.Then in 2022 our elderly & very kind next-door neighbor, a widower, decided to move to Portland to be with family. His circa 1950 house also needed a lot of work. We were experienced hosts at that point and we knew the location and layout were absolutely perfect for another vacation rental. **So Patrick worked out a deal with the seller that included some seller-financing and we bought it. Then we put in granite counter tops, tiled showers, redwood decks, heated floors, bigger windows and much more.Our objective was to create a magical space where people can come to relax in quiet comfort with lots of privacy & stunning ocean views.
