Located on the highly sought after Branch Lake, our beautiful Japandi style cabin provides an ideal setting for nature to be the star. With an eagles nest on the property and nightly loons serenading you under the stars, you will surely be able to recharge. Designed with intention, our cabin has views of the lake from every room. This is a very quiet, and peaceful area. Only 27 miles from Acadia National Park! Our cabin sits on 3 private acres and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a sleeper sofa sectional. With families in mind, we have created a bunk room that can sleep 4 children, and a lounge area for them to play games or watch a movie at night while the adults gather in our open concept downstairs area and sip wine by a fire. Branch lake is known as one of the top rated lakes in Maine for its water purity and very unique sparse population as its the watershed for Ellsworth. Less than half the lakeshore is developed, especially the Southern end, making one feel wonderfully cutoff from civilization! Mainguy's is one of the nicest or best camps on Branch Lake for its location and amenities just off Route 1, center lake location, deep water frontage with a dive tower, small beach, lakeside fireplace and exceptional knotty pine interior with top of the line appliances, new beds, bar, stereo system, Wifi & 3 large LED TV's. The year round house/camp was totally gutted from top to bottom and remodeled IN 2015 and is just 40 feet from the waters edge. Ideally designed for families or 2 couples as there are 2 separate indoor entertainment areas. There is 1 ground floor bedroom with a queen, 2 bedrooms with full beds, 1 master king bedroom on the 3rd level which has a 1/2 bathroom, and a bunk bedroom along with a loft hosting a very plush full futon bed. The kitchen is completely remodeled with state of the art appliances, dual oven, 36 inch fridge with ice maker , dual gas stove and dishwasher along with a convection microwave oven. Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the 1st floor including the kitchen along with new wrap around quartz countertops. The house has all new linen and towels you will need along with all kitchen utensils and dishes. The ground floor has industrial carpeting as the sliding glass door exit finds you right near the sand beach and can handle the sandy traffic in and out. The hammock right near the dock is often fought over during the day or evening as a perch to watch the fire in the lakeside fireplace. Sunsets from the deck are magic! A very scenic 30 minute drive takes you into the famed Acadia National Park or towards Bucksport to start a must do memorable drive along the coastline down to Camden with all the roadside charm and antique shopping. Get away from it all at our peaceful and immaculate studio apartment nestled in the trees just steps from pristine Green Lake. Enjoy two hundred feet of gorgeous waterfront on two lovely acres. We are on a well maintained unpaved road with little traffic, affording peace and quiet. In the Loon's Nest, you'll find a comfortable queen sized bed that looks out on the lake. If you're an early riser, you can watch the sunrise from bed, but the door and windows all have blinds to lower if you plan to sleep in or nap. You're here to relax and rejuvenate! A microwave, small fridge, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, dishes and silverware are provided for light meal preparation. You have access to a gas barbecue grill as well. WiFi is provided. No pets please and no smoking. There are the two kayaks and a 15’ canoe available at the water's edge with life jackets provided. Read and relax in the large hammock at the water’s edge or simply watch the leaves above you sway in the breeze. Take a long walk if you like. Swim in clean clear water at the end of our dock, where you can see 12 feet to the bottom. Green Lake is considered one of the premier lakes in Maine, with spring fed depths of up to 180 feet. Our dock is unusually spacious, with 2 Adirondack chairs at the end and two lounge chairs closer in. There are also additional lounge chairs on the lawn, providing plenty of places to relax.If you decide to check out the area, Ellsworth is 15 minutes away. It has just about everything you might need or want. Small towns like Blue Hill, Surry, and Belfast are all less than an hour from our location and the city of Bangor is a half hour to our north. The entrance to Acadia National Park is 40-45 minutes away, and has 45 miles of carriage trails to bike on (without road traffic) and gorgeous hiking trails that wind along the ocean or climb to amazing views. You can rent bikes or sea kayaks at several locations if desired. You might decide to drive to the top of Mt. Cadillac for a spectacular view, go whale watching, drive the scenic Park Loop Road, or enjoy charming towns like Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, and Northeast Harbor. After a day enjoying the Ellsworth area or Acadia National Park, come back and take a nice cool swim. There's a swim ladder at the end of our dock and the apartment has beach towels for your use. The Loon's Nest does not have a television; we’re hoping that you connect with nature during your stay. We have friends and family who continually turn down day trips when they're here; all they want to do is relax and enjoy our wooded lakeside setting.
