'Hotel is great value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is 15mins walk from the station or 1 stop on the bus. Location is great for exploring Haarlem. Room was spacious and very clean. You don’t get any amenities provided but that is standard for European hotels at this price range. Would be happy to return.'

'We loved this quirky little hotel. It smells gorgeous when you walk in the door and the decor is sumptuous and stylish. The staff are lovely and helpful. The hotel is two minutes walk from the train station and about a ten minute walk to the Grote Markt area. Our room was lovely - we appreciated the extra touches that made it feel like a treat to stay here. Breakfast was bijou but very lovely and had we wanted to we could have ordered omelette/eggs in addition to what was on offer. All in all a lovely base for exploring the area.'

'Our family had a wonderful 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Lion d'Or in Haarlem! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from the train station (70m or less) and a short walk to the charming city center. It made exploring both Haarlem and Amsterdam incredibly convenient. Our room was spacious enough for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child), clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. Staying in a corner room, we even woke up to the delightful sound of birds singing in the early morning—a lovely touch! The breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Also, don’t miss visiting Café De Paris in Haarlem, near Hotel Lion d'Or. The food there was fantastic and definitely worth trying! What truly set this hotel apart was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Their helpful local recommendations enriched our trip and made it even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Lion d'Or to anyone visiting Haarlem. It’s a gem of a hotel that combines convenience, comfort, and outstanding service. We can’t wait to return in the future!'
