前台不太友好 但是餐廳服務很好 早餐很棒

酒店地理位置環境好，設施中規中矩。

Fantastic stay here paid for the upgraded room 207 stunning views huge room king size bed lovely bathroom . We had champagne on arrival which was nicely chilling in ice bucket. Lovely chilled spa pool steam room and sauna. We had excellent meal in the evening. Lovely cooked breakfast with high quality produce . Lovely 4 mile walk right from hotel in Loughrigg terrace. We will be back .

The location and helpful staff are definitely the best things about the Daffodil. We stayed 2 nights and didn’t have to move the car as you can walk easily from the hotel and Grasmere village is very close by. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay and dealt a few requests from us without delay. We found the hotel itself slightly corporate and lacking in atmosphere for our taste. This included our views on the restaurant too. Our room was large and clean with a lake view although no where to sit and enjoy it. We used the spa pool which was okay although it’s not a pool for swimming but just to relax and use the various jets of water. Overall we thought it was good value for what we paid but it didn’t quite come up to our expectations based on the previous positive reviews.

A lovely location with easy access to lots of local attractions set in the wonderful lake district. Access to the hotels Spa facilities and a good choice of menus for daytime and evening.

A revisit to this beautifully located hotel, was a little underwhelming. The location can’t be faulted on the shore of the mere with wonderful views and a good location just ten minutes walk into the village. So what was the issue? Well we had stayed here before and felt that it lacked the feel of a four star hotel anymore. All those little things that make a stay special when you spend that sort of money just weren’t there. The reception staff were barely welcoming and on departure didn’t even bother asking how our stay was. At dinner the staff were functional but again below par for what you would expect for such a hotel and when paying their high food prices, and seeing (as with many hotels since the pandemic) there were no table cloths, perhaps some attention should be made to the wooden surfaces of the tables. The breakfast staff were lovely and took time to engage with customers. What a difference. My only criticism of breakfast was that, although good quality, there wasn’t the range that I would expect in a four star hotel (and we have stayed in plenty). Nicole savoury options, no smoothies or even fresh fruit juice, no coffee machine to make an espresso (if that’s what you want) and it would be nice to decide how much maple syrup you want to drown your (very nice) pancakes in. Housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy, but barged in after we had checked in! And for some reason missed the used shampoo bottle that was on the floor under the sink when we arrived and was still there after two days (visible from the loo or bath it wasn’t ours so we left it there to see). Our room was large and comfortable with, though for some strange reason there was no mirror in the bedroom, and my wife would have liked a full length mirror to check before going out for dinner. It might have been nice to have some cushioning in the window area, a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. In the public areas the carpets seemed grubby and for some reason the housekeeping staff left their trolleys around and cupboard doors open all day. The Spa is nice though could do with the staff checking around the pool and wiping down the loungers every so often to make it more pleasant for guests arriving after others have left. It’s a shame. Last time we stayed we felt like we had had the four star hotel experience and Dinner was special, sadly this time the experience was much more average.

This is my second stay at this hotel, the first time was summer 2022 with my daughter and I returned this autumn with my husband after having such an enjoyable time the first time around. I booked the ‘foodie escape’ which came with a room upgrade subject to availability. I was a little disappointed not to receive a room upgrade but the room was pleasant and spacious with views of the lake which I had booked. The evening meal wasnt as good as the first time around but again it was nice. The breakfast was very good however!! The afternoon tea in 2022 was the best afternoon tea I had ever experienced. It was just so different to your ordinary afternoon tea and even served with a little Thai and sushi so I was very much looking forward to this again on this stay but again, although the afternoon tea was pleasant and enjoyable, it was nothing on the first stay at the hotel. There was often no bar staff at the bar so we had to wait for a drink, the reception staff had to help out at one time because there was nobody about and she had never poured a pint before so we even had to talk her through it. - not a problem, it was actually quite funny. The jets in the spa were not working which was a real disappointment, just two of the beds worked but two didn’t and none of the outside jets worked around the pool. The sauna was set too low and even with adding water you couldn’t get a sweat on. I only realised after moving on to the next hotel that the Daffodil had a change of management since my first visit. Hopefully they will start improving things around the hotel soon and bringing it back to the quality it was before. Overall though we did very much enjoy our stay and we love the area and the walks around Grasmere! Oh and as a bonus we did get to see the Northern Lights whilst we were there!!
