The B&B experience at Lightner Farmhouse is fabulous. The food is prepared like a first class restaurant and served at the time it is promised. The innkeepers are extremely knowledge about the history of the farmhouse, the town of Gettysburg and the Battle of Gettysburg. All of this made it a great experience for all. Highly recommend and close to all things Gettysburg.

Steve and Teresa were wonderful hosts of this lovingly restored historic property. Steve was a wealth of knowledge regarding the fascinating history of the property. He also made suggestions based on our interests and arranged our private tour with a brilliant guide. Teresa prepared beautiful and delicious three course breakfast. This is a perfect bed and breakfast to enhance your Gettysburg visit. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Lightner Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast with 4 other couples for our annual spiritual retreat! Steve and Teresa were kind, welcoming, accommodating, helpful hosts. The restaurants they recommended were all wonderful - The Gettysburger, Olivia’s and The Dobbin House Tavern. We appreciated the use of the downstairs gathering room to meet as a group throughout our stay! The breakfasts were delicious! We really enjoyed Steve sharing the history of the house and Gettysburg in general.

We are so happy with our choice to book the Lightner Farmhouse! Steve was a fantastic host! Sadly Teresa was out of town but we hope to meet her on a return trip. We stayed in the Captain Elias R. Monfort bedroom and enjoyed looking him up and finding his unit's monument on the battlefield. Steve lined up a private overview tour for us through Battlefield Guide Darryl Roberts (who was so kind and knowledgeable!). When my wife was experiencing some battlefield fatigue, Steve recommended we check out Civil War Tails (a cat diorama centered around the war) and it was one of our favorite experiences of the trip. Also, we were inspired by Steve's tin type family photos and booked our own sessions at the Victorian Photography studio! So fun! Our only regret is we could not stay longer, we plan to return to Gettysburg and will of course stay at Lightner Farmhouse B&B!

A wonderful location, gracious and informative hosts (Steve sat at breakast each day to talk with their guests-this stimulated discuussions among their guests and he provided excellent information about Gettysburg and the Civil War), and the breakfasts were good with outstanding baked goods and fruit options (the first day fruit was an amazing baked spiral sliced apple with nuts in the core). We enjoyed the country setting (it somehow felt more connected to the rural setting of the battlefield than in town might have provided). The historic Civil War house and accomodations were wonderful (the home, when new, served as a hospital for Union soldiers during the battle). The town is nice w/plenty of dining options.

Innkeepers Teresa and Steve provide warm and satisfying accommodations at their picturesque Civil War retreat that during the July 1863 battle was used as a hospital by the Union 1st Corps. A pre-breakfast lecture on the Battlefield’s monuments is offered before sitting down to a sumptuous breakfast. The Inn is conveniently located, and it is appointed with distinctive furnishings.
