베어 호텔(The Bear, Cowbridge)

We were married here on the 15th of May 2024 and had an absolutely amazing time! The hotel rooms are spotless, the staff are always so helpful and the food is delicious too! Good selection of drinks and some lovely areas to relax in. Have given feedback directly to the business to address the deducted stars - but expect them to be addressed quickly, it's how they operate. Highly recommend the Bear!

We went for Sunday lunch. The meal was THE BEST Sunday lunch I’ve ever had in a pub. Tasty tender meat, giant Yorkie and .fresh vibrant veg. However, with the roast we were only given two miserly roast potatoes. We asked for a few more and were told there would be an extra payment. At £17.95 each I thought this mean!

We were given a voucher with a number of hotel options and we selected the Bear. We enjoyed a lovely stay with dinner bed and breakfast taken, all of which were lovely. We had a great room, ate in the restaurant for dinner, and breakfast over the road was excellent as well, we could not fault our visit. The location in Cowbridge is nice and central to explore a number of places both within Cowbridge and also wea also visited Nash Point and St Donats.

We had a two night DB&B break and had a very comfortable stay. Food and service was very good. Room was fine and the large car park made the Bear very accessible.

Another outstanding service we didn't book, but zara gave us the best table to celebrate our anniversary, the ham egg and chips and the haddock really recommend the pie, thank you zara for the best night and looking after us, please thank her and keep doing what your doing, you ran the floor and kept everything in order.

Lovely character property with professional and dedicated staff. Our room was exceptional, large but cosy and well appointed.

Perfect venue, excellent staff. We were treated like royalty from start to finish. Great place to get married. Food was outstanding, the staff couldn't do enough for you. We can't wait to go back for a chilled overnight stay.

This was our second time at the Bear. The friendliness and comfort at the inn, plus the lovely town, make this an ideal place to stay when visiting the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. We'll be back again!

We stopped here for a light lunch and ate in the bar area. I ordered a sandwich with smoked salmon and chive cream cheese. It was a very sorry looking sandwich. One slice of smoked salmon which didn't cover all of the bread, a negligible amount of cream cheese and zero chives. It didn't taste of anything, being mostly bread, no lemon, no pepper, (no chives). It came with a salad garnish that looked nice but unfortunately the mustard dressing was a bit too strong and plentiful for my taste. I expected much more for £9.50, I could have had a nicer sandwich from a supermarket for a lot less. We also ordered a brown crab salad which was OK. It had a nice selection of salad vegetables but I can't really comment on the crab as you couldn't really see any! There was a brown coloured paste like dressing so maybe that was the crab? Very disappointing.
