A absolutely amazing experience. What a beautiful hotel! What lovely people! We met the fantastic owner Helen, her warm and kind manager Mina, Albie, Hamza in the restaurant. It's like a big family and we felt sad leaving! The design is STUNNING. Every room is special and the beds are incredibly comfy for a good nights' sleep. The team are wonderful in helping you organise transfers, surf lessons, restaurant recommendations. On my birthday they gave me flowers and the entire restaurant sang to me which made me feel so special! They also have a live band playing upstairs and people from all over come to eat in the restaurant so it really is the place to be at night as well.

Stayed here the second night of our tour. This is not called the windy city for nothing. Because the wind blew so much the noise was very bad because the doors keep moving and is not sound proof at all. You can see this hotel is definitely a bit older in furniture and also some things are not maintained well. Rust etc. can be found. The rooms are big though and really close to the medina which is awesome. Breakfast was ok but limited but might be due to ramadan. All in all a fair hotel for one night we stayed there.

We walked from the bus station, through the hustle and bustle of the souk, to a small side street with an unassuming door at the end. When we walked into the riad, it was a ‘wow’ moment. The design and decor of this place is top class. If you appreciate quality bedding and pillows, and peace and quiet, you’ll love it here (there is a minimum age limit of 14 here). The breakfast is served on the roof terrace with views of the sea below. This place is literally on the beach, but if you want to swim safely, away from rocks , it’s a 10 minute walk to the fabulous, sandy beach outside the ‘city wall’. Ernest, the owner and his team of staff were fantastic. Whilst you’re here, you should definitely try the on-site hammam and a massage. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink at the small bar here, then headed out to dinner. There are some great local restaurants to choose from, just 5 mins walk away. I would definitely return.

We had only one night to stay in Essaouira and we most definitely made a superb choice - Villa Maroc is quite unique and so tastefully decorated - the rooms are spacious and all of them very stylish - each room is in one of the four interconnecting riads and the whole place exudes charm and tranquility. We were lucky that Fatima showed us a few of the rooms and ..... wow..... how beautiful they all were. - the view from the rooftop is spectacular, overlooking the bay. We felt very welcome and the staff makes you feel like you are family - nothing was too much trouble. At night time the place is so beautiful - we had supper there and the communal places are candlelit which gives the place such a relaxing atmosphere - even the fire was lit in the cosy bar area - we will definitely stay there again and would thoroughly recommend a few nights at Villa Maroc - you cannot be more charmed ! We are a couple from the UK.
