We had our wedding here at Hornsbury on 2nd August 2024. From the initial meeting with Paul we knew this was the place for our long awaited wedding. Every contact from them was professional and yet always personal and friendly. We were drawn by the lovely surroundings and the professionally laid back vibes. They have a variety of meal and drink packages, but they are flexible and full of ideas. The food and drink was exceptional. I stayed the night before with some family and we had a fantastic meal and breakfast. On the day the team were on it, kept us involved when they needed to but otherwise they quietly got everything done and moving to make the day go off without a hitch. Paul made an effort to give us a couple of quiet moments, away from the scene for a moment to take it all in which we definitely needed. We had the best day, and we can’t thank the team At Hornsbury enough. I would always always recommend them to anyone looking to book their wedding!!!!

The place is beautiful ! The staff are so friendly and helpful . Paul the manager goes out of his way to help. Restaurant food is lovely, big portions. We had room 7 which is the biggest it has a working mill in the room. Very clean and comfy bed. Small bar with a lovely area with couch’s to relax and have a drink

The most friendliest and welcoming of hosts. The biggest and best breakfast you will ever receive. Well cooked and varied evening menu. The owners and hosts do everything possible to make you welcome. Unpretentious venue. Comfortable accommodation.

We stayed for a week just the two of us. Very nice ground floor room with a wet room which was great . Very atmospheric and the staff were really welcoming. The food was very good and of a high standard, for breakfast and evening meal. The lounge and bar were both very comfortable. The bar sold premium lager, pale ale and Inch’s cider, all on draft. The water wheel works and is impressive. It also had a decent wine list.The setting of the hotel could not be any better.The lake was stunning and the gazebo was picturesque. The whole place was ideal for any occasion or just a holiday venue.

Visited Hornsbury Mill for afternoon tea. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were all delicious. The staff were pleasant and attentive. However the furniture and decor were extremely dated which I was quite shocked by considering the allotted four stars. I had expected much higher standards. The teapot didn’t pour properly because the end of the china spout was badly chipped and I had to ask for it to be replaced. A rodent trap was visible outside right in the middle of the glass fire escape.

Attended a close family wedding yesterday at Hornsbury Mill and wanted to leave a review to say how fantastic the venue was. A very relaxed setting, an excellent wedding breakfast and great ambience. Special mention to the staff Zoe and Emma who were fabulous throughout the event. Their obvious pride and pleasure in the job they do shone through.

We booked an afternoon tea for a family birthday. The food was plentiful and delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had lovely weather and ate outside which showed the lake at its best. Fab afternoon, which was enjoyed by all. Thank you.

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Exceptionally lovely staff very friendly. Our room was the bridal suite apparently with the grinding wheel on full view behind glass lovely touch and very interesting history. The full English breakfast was massive and looked delicious. We opted for a smaller breakfast which was more than adequate and was delicious too.

Very warm welcome at this ideally located venue set within super grounds. The bedroom was large, very comfortable bed and good bathroom/shower. Great TV and excellent wifi signal. The choice at breakfast was expansive and good but sadly my evening meal was very poor - this is contrary to other reviews so I presume the kitchen had a bad day. I can see why this would make a great wedding venue.

We received a very warm welcome from Jane when we arrived at the mill. We had ordered an afternoon tea which was served in the very comfortable lounge. The tea was exceptionally good and Jane was very attentive, even wrapping some of the cake to eat later as the tea was large. Our bedroom had lovely views over the garden and was very spacious. The four poster bed was comfortable. Ensuite shower was hot. Breakfast was extremely good as were the lunch time sandwiches and evening meals. I wish the weather had been warmer as I think it would be lovely to sit in the garden by the mill pond. The ladies working at the mill were all helpful, friendly and welcoming but we have to highly commend Jane as she looked after us very well every day of our stay. Her mix of friendly banter while maintaining a very efficient work ethic made our stay perfect. The Mill is ideally situated for the coast as well as NT properties. We would definitely stay here again as everyone made sure we were well taken care of. Thank you ladies. From The Cooks.

What a wonderful weekend we had. The owners were so attentive. Very welcoming. The hotel was spotless. The evening meal and breakfast were top class. The working mill and grounds were stunning. We even had a pair of peacocks outside our window. We cannot fault the stay in anyway.. We highly recommend you stay there. Mike and Jacquie

Stayed for a romantic evening with my husband,Lovely room, lovely views, just the romantic setting we needed, comfortable bed, excellent warm and welcoming friendly staff and service, would highly recommend, looking forward to returning.

Hornsbury Mill was the venue for my sons wedding in August 2023. I cannot praise the staff and the venue highly enough. They worked tirelessly to give us all the perfect day. The venue is charming, and we were fortunate enough with the weather to have the ceremony outside in a beautiful setting. The food provided was excellent, as was the service throughout the day. The attention to detail was exceptional. There was room for many of the guests to stay on site. Special, thanks to Jane who insured that the special day was perfect.

A return visit to the lovely place we got married in for a Valentine's Day dinner and the treat of an overnight stay in the Crown Wheel Suite. The food was delicious, with a well selected, and varied menu, and the staff were all friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The grounds are delightful, and seeing the resident peacocks again was a happy bonus. We throughly enjoyed our faultless stay, and would definitely recommend a visit.
