The Crab & Lobster

Warmly received, seated and menus readily given, specials explained. No fixed menu today only a'la carte. Bread was served without charge - good. The food was well presented and tasted nice. However, the prices of dishes the portions of which were not generous were eye-watering represented poor value. All vegetables were sides at again at the upper end of reasonable. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and courteous. The carpark is small so book to arrive early. The wine list more than adequate in range and quality but my the prices!

My son took us here yesterday for my birthday treat and what a treat it was! I have never tasted food as delicious as this it was exceptional!! The service was amazing and everyone we encountered was very friendly. Can't recommend this place enough. Thank you for making my birthday.

Just returned from a fabulous two night stay at the Crab & Lobster. Everything was perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room (1) was beautiful furnished with lovely views across the estuary. The bed was extremely comfortable and I’m fussy as I have a bad back! Fresh flowers in the room is a nice touch plus plenty of tea and coffee and fresh milk. Dinner was excellent and we would have happily eaten there both nights had we not had other plans with friends elsewhere. It’s an old building and you can hear creaking floorboards and a bit of bar noise at times but it didn’t bother us in the slightest. Lovely walk along the old tram route and a short car drive to Selsey and the Witterings. We will definitely be back. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you to the staff who worked so hard to make it such a special stay.

We spent 2 nights here and it is a very welcoming place. The restaurant/hotel is on an ancient harbour although mainly mudflats now. The hamlet is tiny and restful. We had the standard room which had a bath and a view over local foliage but not the nature reserve. It is expensive but but very comfortable to spend time resting. There is a separate entrance to the restaurant and the room is quite private although there was a little noise from other guests. The restaurant has a small bar so you can speak to the locals. Breakfasts are cooked to order and a highlight of our stay with the staff willing to talk and give advice. We ate there on both nights and the menu is mainly fish but something to look forward to each night. There is plenty of walking around the old harbour and nature reserve. The place is not cheap but if you want a short stay in a relaxing atmosphere with excellent food then the Crab and Lobster may suit you.

We visited the restaurant and were blown away by the quality of food. We often hunt out Michelin starred restaurants…we found the Crab and Lobster on par with this level. Staff were so welcoming and helpful too. We liked it so much we booked to go back for breakfast 3 days later. Highly recommend.

Lovely stay for a family birthday. The staff were so helpful and lovely, attentive without being over the top. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options for dinner. There are limited veggie options for breakfast and due to the age of the building the creaking did wake us up a few times, but these are small *******. Recommendation - for anyone tall avoid room four, the room is stunning with gorgeous views but very low ceilings. If you are under six foot, I can highly recommend the room.

We went a couple of weeks ago whilst on holiday in east wittering . On arrival we were made to feel very welcome . Had a couple of drinks in the garden before choosing our food where they brought the specials board to us rather than the other way around .Nice touch . The food was excellent with our friends saying ‘ it was the best meal they’d had in a long time’. Service was great . A first class eatery where nothing was to much trouble .

Very quaint and beautiful location. I decided to return to my childhood holiday location from the 70s and 80s . I loved this area and couldn’t wait to reminisce about those memories . This place is not only well run with friendly staff but gives you cute warm accomodation plus wonderful food

Hotel and restaurant more than somewhere to go for a lunchtime pint. Spock & span. Food menu looked inviting but limited on my visit by staff absence - these things happen. However... £6.00 for pint and a bag of crisps.?
