Fascinating decor, integrated right into the ancient Roman amphitheater in Catania. The proprietor Anna is very thoughtful and responsive. Very clean and very quiet. A quick walk to the historic Baroque city center, fish market, shopping. Walking distance from the bus station; a big plus. We spent 4 delightful nights and will return. Highly recommend.

Such a personal experience with Anna the host. I felt so much at home. She was amazing. The rooms were ok and you can hear a lot of noise which can be disturbing when sleeping. Location is great but Catania is not a nice place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at Relais Anfitheatro in the heart of Catania. The location couldn’t be better — right in the city center, making it easy to explore the main sights, restaurants, and shops on foot. The accommodation was spotless, with a stylish and thoughtful décor that made the space feel both elegant and welcoming. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, adding a warm, personal touch to the experience. Overall, Relais Anfitheatro combines comfort, charm, and an unbeatable location. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Catania Anna is great...thank you :)

This is an unusual place - very close to the centre of Catania but quiet, built over the amphitheatre, inconspicuous and with little signage but obvious once you’ve checked in. A true oasis. Anna is a generous host, there’s a coffee area and outside seating as well as well-sized and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is at a convenient cafe around the corner, with a wide choice of sweet and savoury food. We would definitely recommend, joining everyone else - at the time of writing EVERY REVIEW IS FIVE STARS, which tells you everything you need to know!

This place is a real gem and lived up to all the great reviews. Conveniently located, clean, quiet and plenty of space for two people. Large bathroom and private patio. The shared kitchen was great. Anna was extremely helpful with local sites to visit and restaurants. She got us a cab for a 4 am pick up - She was just great. We we definitely stay here again.

We booked Relais Anfitheatro to be in the centre of Catania. You are right in the buzzing centre of town, the hotel hidden behind a door and a courtyard on a small street. It is immaculate and interestingly built into the old amphitheater. The price is very reasonable especially considering the manger Anna who is available all hours, went with us on the first night to find secure parking and has been full of good suggestions. Breakfast in a nearby cafe is included. Excellent!

The b&b was quite unique, being built above volcanic rock laid down centuries ago and sharing it with an ancient amphitheatre. Our suite was spacious, attractive had vistas featuring the rock and the amphitheatre. There is a room fridge, two wardrobes and two large screen TVs...OK if you speak italian. The shared kitchen area and patio were a bonus. Our host, Anna, was lovely, so helpful and interested in how our visit was progressing. A pleasant change from hotel staying.

AMAZING. surpassed our expectations. First impression from out side it is old like every thing surrounding it! Stepping inside tells different story: tastefully modern renovation, emasculated clean, it seems to be enclaved as part of Anfitheatro. Walking distant to dining, shopping and Dumo. the GEM at this place is Anna herself, attentive Hospitable and remarkable. Thanks for everything Anna.
