"I spent four nights at this Hostal in April of this year-2025-and was very impressed....The location was perfect-a short walk to the main square Plaza de Armas....Sleep quality was excellent and my room was large and clean....The shared kitchen was very convenient and the view from the terrace overlooking the estuary was very beautiful...The staff member I dealt with was Claudio and he was helpful and friendly...Very close by were some excellent restaurants...This is a lovely place to stay and is definitely worth returning to...Top marks...10 out of 10."

"My family and I stayed in a room on the third floor. It had an excellent view, attentive service, and great care. Every detail is evident in every corner. The common area on the first floor is beautiful, with comfortable sofas and lovely decor, and is also very well heated. The breakfast buffet is very varied and plentiful; you can see the owner's concern. The bed is very comfortable; you sleep very well and it's very quiet. Our next trip to Castro will be a very nice stay, with an excellent price-quality ratio. Our next trip to Castro will be back at Alma Chilota. You can see their concern for the well-being and comfort of their guests. For us, it's a 5-star hostel. It has parking, and the city center and the handicraft market are within walking distance."

"This is beautiful place to stay in Chiloe. 6 rooms overlooking the bay, that are architecturally stunning. My family of 4 stayed in the family room and it was perfect. We had dinner one night and breakfast both mornings- the food and presentation was amazing. The sun filled our room in the Morning, and it made my morning coffee delightful while I watched and listened to rhe birds and wildlife. Paulina and Dora were warm and friendly and made our stay wonderful. They had great recommendations for places to see in the area and restaurants to try. It is tucked away high on the ridge and so the road getting in and out is all part of the experience. If you are looking for something different and memorable, look no further! "
