칼슨스 로지(Carlson's Lodge)

The hospitality at this lodge was amazing! While we were still half an hour from arriving the host called us and asked us if we had eaten yet. She recommend the most kid friendly places along our route, so that we could eat before arriving. It was the kindest gesture. When we arrived she sat down with me and told me about all the best food and stops in the area. She then showed me the rooms in detail. She told us to call if we needed anything, but we didn't! We had adjoined queen rooms with a kitchenette, which was perfect for our group of 7 including 3 kids. The mini fridge was able to fit quite a lot that I had packed in a cooler for our trip. We only saw other guests once in the parking lot the whole time we were there, and the parking lot was full when we arrived. It was a lovely quiet stay. The rooms had one firm bed and one plush bed, which was perfect! We slept well! The location was perfect for our itinerary. We took the cog up Mt. Washington, drove the Kancamagus, and hiked the Flume Gorge. I would absolutely stay here again!

I am going to say this upfront: this property is dated. HOWEVER, the room was incredibly clean, the bed super comfortable. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Did I say VERY clean? The host was incredibly friendly and helpful.

My stay at the Carlson was really wonderful; great location, clean, spacious - the hosts were super nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again!

It was a clean accommodation . Large rooms. Staff were very attentive to guests needs. I will stay there again.

Stayed in a deluxe corner room with kitchenette. Would not stay here again, due to 2 issues during our stay: (1) the ceiling tiles were poorly maintained and sagging in the area directly above one of the beds (as pictured); (2) we caught 11 ladybugs in our room during the course of our stay and constantly heard flittering noises in our room The walls were also very thin. On the pros side: High water pressure shower; clean beds; and early check-in.

Backyard unusable picnic tables.... not allowed to use a pool that looked perfectly fine...no fridge in room as website described...

Thank you Carol and her son for the wonderful hospitality. The rooms were clean and cozy. You feel like you’re home when you stay here. The location is great, close to all main attractions We will definitely be back!

This was a return visit. I had stayed there years ago with several families. Some rooms have kitchens/kitchenettes. I found everything clean and in working condition. Lots of spaces for people to gather in comfortable chairs, sofas. About 5 miles from Breton Woods ski area. Definitely on my list of places to return to. .

We recently stayed for 5 nights at Carlson’s Lodge and it was perfect for us. It’s close to Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch and Mt. Washington which allowed us to take full advantage of the outstanding hikes in the area and enjoy the excellent fall color in the mountains. We were lucky enough to get one of the Deluxe Corner rooms with a kitchenette which made it easy to prepare meals and not have to worry about eating out. Both beds (firm and plush) were very comfortable, and there are multiple charging areas for all of your devices. What really sets this place apart are the owners, Carol and Will. They were very helpful and accommodating and we enjoyed our many interactions with them, giving our stay a personal touch you just can’t find at most hotels.
