We had an outstanding time at the Carmichael Boutique Hotel. The Victorian-style house is in very good condition and was carefully and lovingly renovated in 2020. Our hosts Yves and Valerie and their team took excellent care of us and were always the perfect people to talk to with valuable tips for excursions. They create a very cosy atmosphere. The breakfast is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired.

This hotel was fabulous. The inn keepers were very helpful in helping us plan what to do in Capetown and how to stay safe. They arranged for a driver to pick us up and one to do a lovely all day tour to the cape of good hope and to see the endangered penguin colony. Urbering anywhere from the house was also easy. The rooms (we had two) were well done and well equipped with blackout screens, which we appreciated. We were also able to get our laundry done in a day and it looked fabulous. The breakfasts were Excellent! We even had our son come join us (he was staying elsewhere). The croissants were homemade, the jelly fabulous and the coffees were any way you wanted. I'm a tea drinker, and the chai tea latte with almond milk was delicious!! They gave us great recommendations for other meals too. We hiked table mountain one day and they showed us how to check the weather up there. Wonderful stay with knowledgeable hosts!

I had a lovely week-long stay at Carmichael House. Valerie and Yves were very welcoming and helpful and I had a beautiful room and pleasant stay. The room was excellent and I couldn't have asked for more.

Valerie and Yves the hosts are so friendly and makes you feel so welcome , with very good informations on what to do,where to eat and much more. Their Victorian house hotel is just gorgeous,with beautiful decorated rooms ,very clean ,very quiet neighborhood. The breakfast is delicious with loads of choices. The location is great 15 min away from the airport,15 min to the waterfront . Very easy access to everything. The perfect place to stay when you’re in Cape Town . We loved the place so much that we’re coming back in February and this time we’ll take some time to enjoy the lovely pool and relax in the beautiful garden with a nice glass of South African wine.

Sublime, Effortless, Comfortable, Timeless. Just returned from a wonderful trip to Cape Town. Staying at the Carmichael was a highlight of the trip. Yves & Valerie are wonderful hosts & really made us feel at home. Situated in a well positioned leafy suburb we were never too far away from any of the main Cape Town attractions.

We had a wonderful stay at Carmichael House. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. They give us many tips on touring the area. The house is the historic place, very comfortable and incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend staying there when you are in Cape Town.

Staying at Carmichael House for 3 days to catch up with friends. A most wonderful hotel and the host and hostess were so accommodating and pleasant. Very quiet and breakfast and light dinner was quite wonderful. I love staying here and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at the Carmichael House Boutique Hotel for 7 nights as a family of 4 (two adults and two children). We liked everything so much that upon arrival home we continue to remember the wonderful hotel and Yves and Valerie, the owners of the wonderful Victorian-style hotel. Yves organized a transfer for us from the airport and back, responded to all our requests and wishes with all his heart, and we remember the wonderful breakfasts in the garden and the smell of freshly baked croissants in the morning every day in cold Moscow. At this hotel we drank the most delicious wine from their collection. I would like to say thank you to Yves and Valerie for our wonderful days in Cape Town!

Carmichael House is always my go-to in Cape Town. I have been visiting since 2012, sometimes for business, sometimes for leisure. The location is excellent, with easy travel to the center city. The house itself is beautiful (even more so since the interior was redone during COVID). Tremendous natural beauty in the garden, with views of Devil’s Peak from the back of the house. But best of all is the warm welcome from the Ducommun family. Truly a gem; highly recommended.
