호텔 쿤투르 와시(Hotel Kuntur Wassi)

During our stay in Cabanaconde, we stayed two nights at hotel Kuntur Wassi on March 31 and April 1, 2024. It is a very cozy and attractive hotel on the outskirts of the village. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff is very friendly and the service excellent. This hotel is an ideal base to explore the Colca Canyon. It is undoubtedly the best address in the area. It is highly recommended for adventurous and interested travelers who want to get to know the culture and nature of this spectacular region. Cannot recommend. Dirty floors and toilet. We slept in our clothing and rushed out in the morning. Pitiful

If you’re looking for the ultimate authentic rural Peruvian experience this is it. Fabulous owners. Unbelievable ambiance. Feels like home. A great place to bring family or friends. Or just really get away. Located at the Colca Canyon very near where you can see the condors..

The hotel was very nice. The owners are lovely people and take good care of you. One of us was sick due to the hight. They called a doctor and gave us herb tea. While one of us was resting the owner asked the other to come on a trip with him to see some nice views. Very lovely! The food is good and the rooms are very big, nice and clean. There is also a Nice place where you can sit, drink something and relax with a view.

We had the pleasure to stay a night at Kuntur Wassi before our hike in the Colca Canyon. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was extensive. The best thing about Kuntur Wassi is their hospitality. The owners and staff are very nice, we could store our luggage for free, we were allowed to take a shower after we returned from our hike and the family even offered us transportation to Chivay. Thank you very much for everything!

Big recomendation for hotel Kuntur Wassi. It's a really beautiful family hotel where you feel welcome from the beginning. Everyone is really friendly and helpfull, and we had some nice chats. The service is great. We could for instance check in early, leave our bags while going on 3-day-walk through the canyon and they even cooked some eggs for us which we bought for the walk. We really loved the food too (breakfast and dinner), the price includes a nice breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, bread, cheese, marmelade and an fried or scrambled egg. It was a great experience!

After a long day driving, we arrived at 10pm to a dark street and dark building. We had to ring the doorbell for at least 5 minutes until someone came to the door. Turns out he was sleeping. Definitely not the welcome we were expecting since the posting for this hotel says 24hour front desk. He showed us to the room and left us to go back to bed. All we wanted was a hot shower and sleep, but there was not hot water in sink or shower. The room was freezing but there were extra blankets so we slept warm. The next morning after breakfast we asked about the hot water and he came to show us the trick for hot water which we never would’ve figured out on our own, turning knobs on the sink and the shower whichever way at the same time. We were hiking colca canyon and checking out so we never got a chance to use it. I will say that the location is great if you’re there to hike the canyon. The small town is charming in the daytime and this hotel does have a nice feel to it. The posting for this hotel is just extremely misleading.

Had an amazing experience at Hotel Kuntur Wassi. The location was beautiful, had a great look out over Cananaconde and had a very charming setting. Rooms were clean and unique! Overall, great hotel with great food and bar, would definitely recommend!

Came back to this very special hotel in Cabanaconde and once again had a fabulous experience. I love the greenery and charm that is around every corner. The rooms are all a little different with so much character and pleasantries. The food was delicious, made will the tastiest herbs and delivered with a beautiful presentation. The Pisco sours seem to have a secret recipe and were the best I tasted. Love this magical place in Cabanaconde.
