The Fern Cave, named after a hiking destination in Caprock Canyons, is a small (approximately 14’ x 18’) tiny cabin. It is a studio-style cabin, furnished with a queen-size bed and twin bunk beds. It sleeps 4 people. It has a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.There is no kitchen or kitchen sink, but there is a compact refrigerator (smaller than a standard fridge, but bigger than a mini-fridge), microwave, coffeemaker, Roku TV, and an outdoor area with a gas grill. This cabin has a window A/C and heating unit.---------------Please note: This is one of multiple vacation rentals on our property (Shepherd Family Cabins & RV Campground). While there are other cabins on the property, each rental is separate with no shared spaces. This vacation rental is part of a historic homestead built in 1925, updated in the 90's, but still retaining the historic charm and decor from almost 100 years ago. It is a three-bedroom, two-bath vacation rental. Relax in the spacious living room with fold-out sofa, loveseat, and gas fireplace. Enjoy your favorite shows and movies on the big-screen Roku TV with Hulu. Spend time cooking in a fully-equipped kitchen with a seating island, or grill your favorite foods on the outdoor gas grill (propane is provided).Wake up with complimentary coffee/tea at the coffee bar in the kitchen. Light snacks are provided as well.Linens and towels are included.Located on ten acres, two miles from the state park and one mile from the quaint town of Quitaque, guests are free to sit out on the front porch, walk the property, play games (badminton, tetherball, washers, tic-tac-toe), and enjoy the peace, quiet, and views of the surrounding areas.
